As the countdown to PSL 11 enters its final phase, Islamabad United have quietly made two late additions that could prove more significant than they seem at first glance.
While most squads are already settled, United have chosen to fine-tune theirs. And sometimes, these last-minute tweaks can make all the difference.
Mohsin Riaz gets his big break
The headline addition is young batter Mohsin Riaz, who joins the squad just days before the tournament begins. For a player from Sheikhupura, this is a moment he would have been waiting for.
Riaz may not be a household name yet, but his numbers suggest potential. In domestic T20 cricket, he has scored 106 runs in eight matches with a strike rate pushing close to 138. That kind of intent is exactly what teams look for in the shorter format.

More recently, he featured in the National T20 Cup for Sialkot, where he continued to show glimpses of his ability. This is not about big numbers yet. It is about timing. And for Riaz, the opportunity has come at just the right moment.
Chris Green adds experience and balance
Before signing Riaz, United had already made another important move. They brought in Chris Green as a replacement for injured Australian batter Max Bryant.
Green is not just a replacement; he is a proven T20 operator.
Having played in leagues across the world, including the IPL, SA20, CPL and The Hundred, he brings both experience and versatility. His off-spin, combined with his ability to contribute with the bat, adds balance to the squad.

Importantly, he is not new to the PSL either. He represented Multan Sultans back in 2019, so he understands the conditions.
That familiarity could be useful in high-pressure situations.
Squad now complete ahead of opener
With these additions, Islamabad United have finalised a 20-player squad for PSL 11.
Led by Shadab Khan, the team looks well-rounded. There is a mix of youth, experience and international quality.
Players like Devon Conway, Imad Wasim and Mark Chapman add depth, while emerging talents such as Sameer Minhas bring excitement.
Islamabad United will begin their campaign against Multan Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium. It is a challenging start, but also an opportunity to set the tone early. A good opening performance often shapes the rest of the tournament.
