Acting Profession
For Sonya Hussyn, starting the journey as an actor was not intentional. She revealed how as a young woman, she used to attend the auditions of anchoring together with her friends. Although they encouraged her to audition for acting, she first did not manage to get a place for the acting part. But she could not hide throughout the journey she became a center of attraction. It was the time when one director noticed her and cast her for a character in the film and that is when she started her acting career.
The Pros and Cons of Being an Actor
In her career, she acted in many different and interesting, characters. One of such roles was in the drama “Nazo” in which she was criticized for depicting a special child. However, she has not backed down and has been portraying strong characters such as characters that touch on issues such as child abuse, social media abuse, and characters that have schizophrenia.
Social Change Through Media
Sonya’s grandmother’s words have influenced her that in this world we are born to make a change. She often reflects on her grandmothers belief and this is because she has always remembered her grandmother’s words about media as the means of bringing change. As Hussyn explains it “we are in this world to make a difference, and media is one of the most effective ways of letting people know.” Hussyn bears passion and embraces media not with the aim of you making money, but with an aim of helping change the society.
In the journey of Sonya Hussyn, there are lots of ups and downs but she used her life turning point to work for the better future of society using her acting career.
