Pakistani Squash Legend Jansher Khan Inducted into PSA Hall of Fame

Pakistani squash legend, Jansher Khan, has added a new feather to his crowning glory with induction into the Professional Squash Association PSA Hall of Fame. Sharing the accolade with Malaysian icon Nicol David, the induction by the PSA marks Jansher’s colossal contributions and cements his legacy as one of the greatest in the history of the game.

The ceremony, which fell on the eve of the Hong Kong Squash Open, marked Jansher as the fourth member of the PSA Hall of Fame along with other squash icons Jahangir Khan, Susan Devoy, and Nicol David. Commenting on the award, Jansher was seen grinning, “It’s an honour to get this award and reconnect with old friends.”

Jansher’s dominance in the 1980s and 1990s defined an era of Pakistan’s supremacy in squash. His career highlights include a record of eight World Championship titles and six British Open victories, achievements that underscore his unparalleled skills and determination. As the World’s No.1 player for an astounding 97 months, he captured 99 professional titles, a record unmatched since the sport began tracking these accomplishments.

The PSA Chief Executive, Alex Gough, lauded Jansher’s impact, noting that his name is synonymous with squash excellence. “Jansher’s records are nothing short of incredible, and his legacy will forever be a cornerstone of the sport,” Gough remarked.

Reviving National Pride in Squash

Jansher’s achievement is not only a personal triumph but also a reminder of Pakistan’s glorious past in squash. Along with Jahangir Khan, Jansher created a golden era for the nation, inspiring thousands of players and bringing international acclaim to Pakistan.
