Lately, Pakistani cricketers are not having a great time with fans during the ongoing tour of England. Just a couple of days ago, skipper Babar Azam’s viral video showed him expressing frustration at fans in Cardiff. Now, another video featuring Shadab Khan is making rounds on social media.
Shadab Khan’s Awkward Fan Interaction
In a recent viral clip, Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shadab Khan faced an uncomfortable situation when a female fan boldly questioned his poor bowling form.
As Shadab was graciously taking pictures with a couple of female fans, one fan decided to poke fun at him. She bluntly asked, “Aap chakay kyun kha rahe hain? Form mein wapis aayein. Wicketein leni hai aapne” (Why are you conceding sixes? Get your form back. You need to pick wickets).
This question left Shadab visibly uncomfortable. He chose to respond with a silent smile, a moment that quickly went viral on social media, inviting a wave of trolling from users.
Arsalan Naseer Defends Shadab Khan
Shadab Khan chose not to respond to the online criticism, however, actor and YouTuber Arsalan Naseer stepped in, urging fans to respect public figures and players.
He criticized the fan for asking for a selfie first and then making fun of Shadab.
Naseer pointed out, “Aapne pehle ek celebrity ko tasveer kay lye rukwaya aur phir aap aesi harkat kar rahay hain. Shadab ko pata hai uski form kharab hai. Coaching staff and media kafi hai usey batane kay lye apko zaroorat nahi hai” (You stopped a celebrity for a picture and then behaved like this. Shadab knows his form is bad. The coaching staff and media are enough to inform him; you don’t need to).
He also asked fans to respect celebrities and their personal space. Every player or celebrity should be respected, irrespective of their performance.
Naseer further emphasized, “Har bande ko apni limit mein rehna chahye. Celebrity public property sirf itnay hain kay aap unpy comment kar sakte hain, badtamizi nahi” (Everyone should know their limits. A celebrity is a public property only to the extent that you can comment on them, but you don’t to be disrespectful).
This incident highlights the delicate balance fans should maintain while interacting with public figures. There should be mutual respect and understanding between fans and celebrities.
