Pakistan’s digital entertainment world has been shaken after popular YouTuber Saad Ur Rehman, famously known as Ducky Bhai, and his wife, Aroob Jatoi, faced formal indictment over alleged promotion of gambling applications. The dramatic development has quickly turned into one of the most talked-about legal battles involving social media celebrities.

On Monday, Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo officially indicted the influencer couple along with other accused individuals. However, the situation immediately intensified as all the accused strongly denied the charges. They confidently pleaded not guilty and decided to fight the case through a full trial. Meanwhile, the court directed prosecutors to present witnesses during the next hearing, which is scheduled for February 23. As a result, curiosity among fans and critics continues to grow rapidly.

The case has sparked heated debates across social media. Many followers are defending their favourite influencer, while others are demanding strict accountability. Consequently, the controversy has placed influencer marketing under serious public scrutiny.

Serious Legal Charges and Explosive Allegations Unfold

The case originated from an investigation conducted by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). Authorities reportedly launched the inquiry on June 13, 2025, after receiving credible information that several influencers were promoting betting platforms for personal financial benefits. According to officials, these promotions allegedly encouraged the public to participate in risky gambling activities.

The agency registered the case under several strict provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, including electronic fraud, electronic forgery, spamming, and spoofing. Additionally, the accused faced serious charges under the Pakistan Penal Code, including allegations of cheating and offering trade-related prizes. Therefore, the legal consequences could be extremely severe if the allegations are proven in court.

Earlier, authorities arrested Ducky Bhai in August 2025, which instantly created nationwide headlines. Later, the Lahore High Court granted him bail in November, allowing him temporary relief. However, the controversy escalated again when Rehman released a lengthy video accusing officials of physical and verbal abuse during custody. These shocking claims triggered widespread outrage and fuelled further speculation.

Moreover, the case took another dramatic twist when six NCCIA officials faced legal trouble in October. Reports revealed allegations of authority misuse, bribery, and extortion following a complaint filed by Aroob Jatoi. Shortly afterwards, NCCIA Lahore Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry was removed from his position due to multiple controversies, including alleged assault claims.

The unfolding legal battle highlights the rising tension between digital fame and legal responsibility. As proceedings continue, public attention remains intensely focused on the courtroom. Ultimately, the upcoming hearing may reveal crucial evidence that could reshape Pakistan’s influencer industry forever.
