India sealed another strong victory over Pakistan with a six-wicket win in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours. They claimed their second triumph over their arch-rivals within a week and looked in full control of the contest. Abhishek Sharma led the charge with a ruthless innings that outshone Pakistan’s efforts.

Abhishek overcame early fielding lapses to hammer 74 runs off just 39 balls. His knock included five sixes and six fours, keeping India ahead despite missed chances in the field. For Pakistan, Sahibzada Farhan stood out as the only major contributor with a steady 58 from 45 deliveries, but his effort could not change the result.

In the post-match press conference, India captain Suryakumar Yadav dismissed the notion of a fierce rivalry between the two teams. “Standards and rivalry are the same. According to me, if two teams play 15-20 matches and if head-to-head, it is 7-7 or 8-7, then that is called a rivalry. But 13-0, 10. I don’t know what the stats are. But this is not a rivalry anymore,” he said.

Suryakumar highlighted the turning point of the game as the middle overs of Pakistan’s innings. “According to me, the turning point was in the first drinks in the first innings. People changed their body language after that. You always see the game changes generally after the power play,” he explained.

He credited his bowlers for shifting the momentum after the first ten overs. But today, after ten overs, the bowlers changed their line and lengths, understood what the situation needed, and showed a little more energy, which changed the game, he added.

The skipper praised the spinners and gave special mention to all-rounder Shivam Dube. “The spinners bowled well. And according to me, Shivam Dube’s spell, you can say that it was a turning point,” he concluded. India’s disciplined bowling and Abhishek’s fearless batting secured a convincing win, keeping their Asia Cup campaign on track.
