US President Donald Trump said Israel has accepted the conditions for a 60-day Gaza ceasefire. He wrote on Truth Social that during the ceasefire, โWe will work with all parties to end the War.โ
Trump didnโt list the conditions but stated, โThe Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring peace, will deliver this final proposal.โ
Trump urged Hamas to accept the deal. He said, โI hopeโฆ that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not get better โ IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.โ Israelโs UN ambassador, Danny Danon, said, โIsrael is absolutely ready for a ceasefire.โ Hamas has not issued any response yet.
Danon said that Hamas was โplaying hardball.โ He said, โWe are putting pressure on Hamas, and if they do not come to the table, the only option we will have to bring back the hostages is to apply more military pressure.โ He added, โThe war will end when the hostages are back home.โ
Around 50 Israeli hostages remain in Gaza. At least 20 are believed to be alive. A senior Hamas official told the BBC that mediation efforts have increased, but talks remain stalled. Israel insists the war will end only when Hamas is dismantled.
Hamas, on the other hand, demands a permanent ceasefire and full Israeli withdrawal.
Over 170 NGOs want GHF shut down. Groups like Oxfam and Save the Children accuse Israeli forces of firing on Palestinians seeking aid. Israel denies the claim, saying GHF bypasses Hamas interference.
In March, a previous ceasefire failed after Israel launched new strikes. The military said they were โpre-emptiveโ due to Hamasโs threat. That deal had three stages, but collapsed early. Stage two involved a permanent truce, hostage release, and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
