The residents of the port city are expected to face hot and humid weather for the next 24 hours, along with chances of strong winds, as a severe heatwave continues in the country, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Sunday.

The PMD stated that Karachi’s weather will likely remain hot and humid over the next three days, and any relief will only come in the form of intermittent strong winds.

Temperatures in Karachi are expected to stay between 35°C and 37°C. Today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 28.2°C.

Humidity in the city is currently at 78%. However, sea winds are blowing at a speed of 16 kilometres per hour. The PMD also reported high air pressure in the region.

The weather department shared that Balochistan is also going through an intense heatwave. This heatwave may continue until June 12.

In Quetta and nearby areas, the weather is clear and dry. The northern districts of Balochistan are dry, while the southern and central areas are hot.

Temperatures in Balochistan are now 4°C to 6°C higher than usual. On Saturday, Sibi recorded 49°C, Turbat reached 41°C, and Nokkundi reported 43°C.

The upper and central parts of Sindh are also under heatwave alert. The PMD said that temperatures in these areas will be 3°C to 5°C above normal until June 12.

People living in affected regions are advised to stay safe. They should drink plenty of water and avoid going out in direct sunlight for long periods.
