How is the Bohra Community Celebrating Eid al-Adha in Karachi?

Published on

The Bohra community in Karachi is observing Eid al-Adha on Friday with religious passion.

Their greatest event took place at the Tahiri Mosque close to Zahid Nihari in Saddar.

During the Bohra celebrations, Sindh police were present to ensure that everything went smoothly.

Following Eid prayers, the practice of animal slaughter started. This tells the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) who was ready to give his son Ismail for God’s orders.

As part of the Eid celebrations, people sacrifice sheep, goats, cattle, and camels. Eid al-Adha also signals the conclusion of the Hajj journey in Makkah. Some Muslims will commemorate Eid Al-Adha tomorrow, Saturday, others are doing so today in various regions of the world.

The largest Eid prayer was held at Masjid alHaram in Makkah and Masjid anNabawi in Madinah.
