In reaction to rising tensions with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has initiated a significant diplomatic assault. A senior delegation of high-ranking Pakistani politicians and diplomats will tour principal world capitals to “expose Indian propaganda” after recent military skirmishes, state media said on Sunday.
The diplomatic gesture is in the wake of a military clash ignited by the attack on Pahalgam last month. India accused Pakistan of the attack without producing evidence. In retaliation, India launched air raids in Punjab and Azad Kashmir on May 6–7, resulting in the deaths of several civilians. Pakistan retaliated quickly by shooting down five Indian planes and intercepting several drones.

The stand-off resulted in tit-for-tat airbase raids before US intervention on May 10 facilitated a tenuous ceasefire. Aggressive Indian rhetoric has still continued, and so Pakistan has taken its cause to the world.
Bilawal to Lead the Global Mission
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally requested former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to head the delegation. “I am honoured to accept this responsibility,” Bilawal posted on X, vowing to make “Pakistan’s case for peace.”
The delegation also includes other prominent members like Dr Musadik Malik, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Senator Sherry Rehman, Hina Rabbani Khar, Faisal Subzwari, Tehmina Janjua, and Jalil Abbas Jilani.
Global Outreach for Peace
The delegation will visit prominent capitals such as London, Washington, Paris, and Brussels. The objectives of the mission are two-fold: to rebut India’s international campaign of disinformation and to reiterate Pakistan’s interest in regional peace.
“This visit will expose India’s misplaced narrative and its efforts to destabilise the region,” Radio Pakistan quoted. “Simultaneously, it will project Pakistan’s consistent appeal for dialogue and diplomacy.”

India Plans its Own Campaign
While that was happening, India too made a diplomatic move. Seven all-party delegations will travel to important UN Security Council member states later this month to push its position on terror and “project national unity.”
Battle for the Global Narrative
With both nuclear powers deploying emissaries overseas, the diplomatic war is now global. As both forces attempt to influence global perceptions, world powers are closely observing.
The Pakistani message is simple: Pakistan desires peace, but not at the expense of truth. And it’s presenting that message directly to the world’s capitals.
