Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, just got even richer. He’s now the first person ever to reach a net worth of $400 billion, according to a new estimate from Bloomberg News, which attributes Musk’s skyrocketing wealth to the value of his companies, SpaceX and Tesla.

On Wednesday, December 11th, Tesla hit $415, making Musk’s net worth $440 billion. SPACEX, which sold shares in private at $350 billion, is the most valuable private startup company today, and Musk owns 42% of the company. The artificial intelligence company founded by Musk, x.AI has also expanded greatly, increasing its valuation to $100 billion from the $50 billion it secured in May.
A recent legal case decision denied Musk a $100 billion pay package, which Tesla is planning on challenging. Musk described it as an act of “absolute corruption.” However, despite the legal setback, Musk is worth more than Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg making him the richest person in the whole world.
