Nvidia is a multinational American tech company. It is a software company that processes graphics and develops languages that act like interfaces of hardware. Recently, Nvidia’s stock has been skyrocketing, making many of its employees very wealthy. Since 2019, the company’s shares have jumped over 3,000%, turning some workers into millionaires. But despite their wealth, many employees find themselves stuck in a demanding and often stressful work environment. Which given the money they make, is not that big of a problem.

Why Nvidia Staff Has To Work Extra Hours
Some employees work long hours, sometimes seven days a week, and often stay late into the night. One former worker mentioned ending his workday at 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. regularly. The pressure is intense, and there are even reports of yelling during meetings. This kind of stress is common in departments like engineering and marketing.
The CEO of this steller software house, Jensen Huang, admits working at the company is tough. His personal belief is that achieving great things shouldn’t be easy. However, despite the challenges, most employees choose to stay at Nvidia. The company has a very low turnover rate. Only 2.7% of employees left in 2023, compared to the industry’s average of 17.7%. Indicating that the tough work environment isn’t that big of a problem for those working there.
One of the biggest reasons why employees stay is the potential for their stock grants to grow. Nvidia offers an employee stock purchase plan where workers can buy company shares at a discount. Holding onto these shares can lead to huge financial rewards, so many employees are willing to put up with the demanding work culture to secure their future.
So even though working at Nvidia is demanding and tough, the financial awards are so significant that all employees choose to bear with the conditions.
