Update: After some issues, leading to the delay of the official launch of Xiaomi mobile, a date has finally been set for the unveiling of the brand on 20th February.

The manufacturer has partnered with Star Link for its distribution purposes and other related functions to be carried out throughout Pakistan.

The event is to be held in Islamabad, and is said to be attended by Xiomi officials from China as well. On the other hand, Zong and Daraz are also mentioned as launch partners.

According to reports, the phones will be made available in stores across Pakistan effective immediately after the launch. As of now we also know that the following models have been approved by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. They are:

  • Xiaomi Mi Max
  • Xiaomi Mi 5.
  • Xiaomi Note 3
  • Xiaomi Note 4

There is no word yet about the price of the handsets as of yet, the phones will also come along Xiaomi’s official warranty and after support services.


Xiaomi has collaborated with Smartlink Technologies to launch official Xiaomi mobiles in Pakistan. This news broke out after an advertisement was spotted in the local newspaper which reads “Smartlink Technologies Proudly Presents MI in Pakistan.”

Xiaomi, because of its affordable featured packed smartphones, if looking forward to entering Pakistan’s local markets. Known to produce high-quality products, the company will also launch accessories like power banks, MI VR, car charger and Mi Band 2. According to sources, the products will launch with official warranty and at competitive prices.

PTA Approval

Xiaomi has received approval from Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) to launch and sell their products in the local markets back in December 2016. The brand was to already launch in January, however to unplanned delays with distribution partners, the dates extended.

The company is expected to launch the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi Max. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4’s approvals were in process but there have been no updates yet as to their outcome. Aside from distribution partner issues, another delay could be due to Xiaomi’s Head of International Business, Hugo Barra, leaving the company to join Facebook’s VR division.
