WhatsApp is one of the popular social media applications!

The platform recently received several updates including its iconic ‘Delete for All’ feature which has saved thousands of relationships!

However, the media is actually never deleted! The company has added another feature in its latest update that lets users download deleted media files.

Previously, when users went to the convo and opened the media files they had sent, the files were not downloadable as they had been erased from the database.

According to WABetaInfo, users can now download all sorts of media files from WhatsApp’s servers, including videos, GIFs, voice messages, images, and documents, from its servers.

On the other hand, it will not allow you to download a file which is too old, for that a request is needed to be sent.

One thing which has now come to light is that the Facebook-owned is saving all your media files on their servers, this means the person on the other end can tell you they have deleted the media, show you via screenshot, but can also retrieve it again as per wish.

The feature will only work if you have the message on Whatsapp where the sender sent you the specific file.
