Users of WhatsApp will finally be allowed to share their documents over chats. The latest document sharing feature is now available on WhatsApp easily accessible on Google Play and the App Store.

WhatsApp users with the version 2.12.14 on iOS and 2.12.453 on Android will now see the latest ‘Document’ feature under attachments, which permits them to attach and then share documents.


As of now, the feature is limited to only the PDF files even though we are expecting more options related to document sharing in the future.

It is also important to mention that a user will only be able to share a document if both the receiver too has updates to the latest version of WhatsApp that are available on the app stores.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp in iOS will also score a several new updates which now provide the photo and video sharing ability from cloud storage apps like Dropbox, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

The upgrade will also allow its users to select from a range of different colors for their specific chat background.
