Update 6th December 2019: Several areas in Karachi woke up to a pleasant scenery as light drizzle took over the sky.
The weather in the city has become cool and pleasant as a result complimented with breezy winds. PMD expects more rain throughout the day.
Light rain was reported on Sharae Faisal, in Saddar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Mehmoodabad, Defence, Korangi and Malir
Update 21st August: Different parts of Karachi have become pleasant after light drizzles take over the metropolis.
Facebook user Arsalan Asher shared a clip of light rain near Karachi airport on social media today at 10:30 am.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has not issued any notification for a significant amount of rain for Karachi.
Update: 16th August- The last rain Karachi made us all experience a lot of mixed emotions.
We were all rejoicing at the downpour but fretting over the standing water and floods and the diseases brought with it all.
Plus, the fear of getting electrocuted and the deaths caused by electrocution cannot be forgotten. The situation was so bad that K-Electric issued a special warning for citizens in that regard.
It is time to brace yourself for the same again as a new spell of heavy rain is expected to begin in the following multiple cities across Pakistan today:
There are also threats of storm water drains in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Hazara and Malakand flooding and land sliding in mountainous regions.
On the other hand, moderate rain is expected in the following cities:
Dera Ghazi Khan
Moreover, according to the weather forecast, Karachi, Kalat and Mirpurkhas are also expected to experience rainfall in some areas today and tomorrow.
