Pakistan’s most anticipated feature movie ‘WAAR’ is finally all set to be released this Eid ul Azha, on October 16th 2013, as announced in the official press release on Monday.

WAAR had its first theatrical trailer released almost two years ago, ever since then the movie has had numerous reported release dates.

Inspired by true events, the movie is Pakistan’s most expensive cinematic venture with an estimated budget of more than USD 2 million.

As far as the trailer gives out, WAAR has an interesting plotline based on the idea of counter-terrorism which evokes the sense of suspense, terror and action that Pakistanis are all too familiar with, given the current security concerns.

Distributed by ARY Films & Mandviwalla Entertainment, WAAR is written and produced by Dr. Hassan Waqas Rana while the very talented Bilal Lashari has directed it.

The star cast of WAAR includes a mix of industry veterans and some newcomers: Superstar Shaan plays the lead role in the movie, while Shamoon Abbasi, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Aisha Khan, Ali Azmat, Misha Shafi, Kamaran Lashari and Nadeem Abbas Rana make the rest of the cast of the movie.

“With the kind of excitement that audience is showing towards the trailer of WAAR, ARY Films as the distributor of the movie feels highly excited to finally bring WAAR to Pakistani cinemas. Mandviwalla Entertainment and ARY Films have been making active efforts for the revival of Pakistani cinema. Production of high quality and interesting movies such as WAAR will surely become the game changer for Pakistan’s film industry and will provide the much needed impetus for more talented people to take risks by making movies on different topics rather than mainstream love stories.” – Mohammad Jerjees Seja, CEO, ARY Digital Network.

Bilal Lashari, Director of WAAR, said “I know that the audience has been waiting to watch WAAR for quite some time now. I am a perfectionist by nature and have been fine-tuning several aspects of the movie to make it a truly worth watching experience for the audience. My team and I have put our tears, blood and sweat in this movie to create a masterpiece and an entertaining piece of art. We have raised the bar of everything in this movie from cinematography to shooting to aesthetics and we hope that the audience will enjoy watching this movie just as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Made with the recipe for success, all hopes are now pinned on WAAR to come through on the expectations it has built for itself and become the biggest Pakistani blockbuster ever.
