Vidya Balan is all set to host her own talk show inspired by The Oprah Winfrey Show.

According to The Times of India, this show will be co-produced by a Hollywood Studio and will be broadcasted on a U.S. Television Network.

Amidst various rumors for her upcoming role in a biopic, Vidya Balan has just completed shooting for her Mohit Suri film, “Humari Adhoor Kahani”.

She has been offered the central role in two biopics, one being the role of the late Suchitra Sen the beautiful Bengali actress from Bollywood’s yesteryears, and the other being the role of Pakistani Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated in 2007.

However, the Parineeta –star has stated that “No. I’m not doing either of the biopics.” The fact of the matter is she does not plan to act in any movies at all this year. She will be focusing on hosting this new show which is produced along the format of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

A source related to this news has stated that, “It’s a show unlike any on Indian television. It will be backed by a Hollywood studio and will air on a US television network. It demands six months of consecutive filming dates which is why she doesn’t want to sign any new films.”

The Oprah Winfrey show aired on American Television for 1986 to 2011, and as a talk show it has had the highest ratings in American Television history. Apart from being entertaining yet informative, it has also had a very strong social influence on the people of the country.

Will Vidya Balan be able to successfully contend against this parable in entertainment or will she deliver an average job is yet to be seen. However, the roles taken up by this actress have always been very pro-feminist, bold and assertive and so is her persona.

Despite criticism on her body image, her profane language in certain roles and her fashion choices, she has created a niche for herself in Bollywood.
