Twitter has denied the Pakistani government’s request for account information and account removal according to the social media’s transparency report.

The report claims that during the second half of 2016, Pakistan Government had made 4 requests for account information. The government specified 38 accounts, which they wanted to review. However, Twitter declined all requests.

The report further added that the government, from July 2013, the government has made a total of 17 account information requests to Twitter, but none have been accepted. The Government, in the second half of 2016 made 13 requests out of which none was accepted. A total of 19 accounts were reported by the Government to Twitter in this period.
