Toyota Yaris Hatchback 2020

Looks like the Yaris Hatchback is going to make a return in 2020! Car and Driver has reported that the 5-door Toyota Yaris Hatchback will live on and replace the Mazda 2.

The 2020 Yaris Hatchback will be a rebadged Mazda 2 built in that company’s factory in Mexico.

Toyota confirmed the news while in talks with Automobile Magazine, stating:

We will not be offering an MY2019 Yaris liftback for sale in the U.S. but will continue to offer the MY2019 Yaris sedan. We’re working on something new for MY2020.

Toyota is expected to make an announcement at the New York auto show in April in regards to bringing back the hatchback.

Coming to the Mazda 2, it boasts a 1.5-liter Skyactiv Mazda four-cylinder engine with 106 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque hooked to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

We have yet to see what the future of the Toyota Yaris Hatchback 2020 will be and if it will be coming to the subcontinent anytime soon.
