Just a week before New York Auto Show, Toyota has unveiled their brand new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback!
The first thing we notice as soon as we lay our eyes on it is that the Corolla is now more aggressive and has decent new upgrades.
Design
Coming back to its aggressive look, the new Corolla Hatchback is a sight for sore eyes. Starting off with the exterior, it has a new pair of sleek headlights and sporty design, which add to the new look, not to forget it also has daytime running lights as well.
The front also has a large air intake giving the front fascia a mean look, appealing to millennials, which we do not see much in vehicles nowadays. Coming towards the rear, it has red taillights and follows the new trend of aggressive design. It is also equipped with twin exhaust pipes, which kind of add an ‘X’ factor to the ride.
Under the Hood
If you pop the hood, you will find a brand new 4-cylinder, the horsepower is yet to be unveiled. The 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback in the US will be powered by the new 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that replaces the 1.8-litre unit. Power figures for the motor are yet to be announced, but the unit will come paired with a 6-speed manual and a CVT unit.

Safety
Toyota’s second-generation Safety Sense suite of tech will come on all models and includes Pre-Collision with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Dynamic Range Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning With Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist and Automatic High Beams. It also comes with all the typical safety equipment, such as electronic traction control, lane departure warning and seven airbags.
Cabin
Cabin occupants will have a bit more space to enjoy an 8.0-inch infotainment screen with Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay, along with Wi-Fi Connect. There’s also an available Entune 3.0 Audio Plus package (standard on XSE models), which adds HD Radio with weather and traffic info, SiriusXM, Entune Connected Services and an 800-watt, 6-speaker JBL audio system.
Price and Availability
No pricing yet, but our guess is a tad north of the 2018 iM’s base of $19,745.
