The winners of the Queen’s Young Leaders Award of 2018 were announced in December 2017 in which three Pakistanis were the recipients of the award.

Prince Henry had personally congratulated the winners in a video message.

The grand event was held at the Buckingham Palace and it was a grand affair indeed!

It was a proud moment for the nation when Queen Elizabeth II personally presented Mahnoor Syed, Haroon Yasin, and Hassan Mujtaba their awards in front of their families in a festive ceremony yesterday.

One of the most prestigious awards, thousands of applications had been received for it from countries all around the world including Brunei, Darussalam, India, Lesotho, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Canada and more.

Mahnoor Syed

With the intent to support the underprivileged people around her community, Mahoor’s organization ‘Spread the Word’ partnered with several schools to provide activities and workshops to students. These workshops cover various topics such as physical and mental health, child abuse and bullying. Apart from that, she has also established two libraries in Lahore.

Hassan Mujaba Zaidi

Hassan, through his organization, ‘Discovering New Artists’ provides free primary, secondary and art education to students who are unable to afford school fees. The organization DNA raises funds for school projects through their ‘Art for Change’ initiative, which is a national competition for child art. The main aim behind this is to form a link between the youth from the privileged and underprivileged communities of Pakistan.

Haroon Yasin

Working passionately toward providing underprivileged children with good education through his organization, ‘Orenda’. With a unique and digital education model, the organization teaches children the national curriculum with a mission to help with the development of the children throughout Pakistan.

Till now 1,300 children are already being taught in rural areas through a unique digital cartoon series that has been created specially to educate these children.
