Chief Strategy Officer, The Health Bank Global

1. This International Women’s Day, I pledge…
To work on staying present in my own experiences, and encourage awareness around women’s health as part of my professional and personal mandate.

2. Across the organizational landscape, I want to see more female representation in…
It is important for women to be able to represent other women and often times we find there’s not enough research or awareness around women’s issues. Higher representation of women is proven to show improved outcomes and performance, helping any company grow to its full potential.

3. The one stereotype about women that should be busted this year is…
Definitely that women can only excel at one area in life at a time. I think it’s important to look at it as seasons, as part of a journey. Additionally, the definition of success needs to have more color and not be so strictly defined. We need to stop letting society paint a picture of what a happy, healthy, and successful woman looks like.

“The Health Bank Global is promoting gender equality and women empowerment by hiring women in all roles within the company and ensure a gender balance in all departments including managerial roles.”

4. My organization is promoting gender equality and women empowerment…
By hiring women in all roles within the company and ensure a gender balance in all departments including managerial roles. However, we don’t look at this as a favor to society, but rather the only way to achieve our ambitious and inclusive goals.

5. I believe women can fight gender inequality at their workplaces…
By leading through example and showing the world that the glass ceiling is not a boundary; it is a target to be shattered. Women in the corporate world bring to the forefront the matters relevant to women that have been overlooked in the past. This sets the tone for future generations to focus on pertinent matters, without having to break through boundaries and limitations set by society.

6. As for men, they can help reduce gender bias at home and work…
By acknowledging male privilege, showing solidarity, and helping transform power dynamics. Gender equality benefits us all, not just women. Being a role model does not limit itself to genders, men and women can be role models for each other and we need to start recognizing and exemplifying that.

7. My message to young aspiring women looking to start a career in 2022 is…
Take the harder path and challenge yourselves. Never stop listening, observing and learning. It is important to remember, either you win or you learn – take failure out of the equation, and it all becomes less daunting.
