Business & Account Lead, Ishtehari

1. This International Women’s Day, I pledge…
To forge positive visibility of women and support them to achieve their goals and ambitions through my experience.

2. Across the organizational landscape, I want to see more female representation in…
Leadership roles. When it comes to creatives women still have some representation but you won’t find them managing the quantitative side of any business. Women have the capability to lead, PERIOD, whether it is presenting ideas, managing clients, bringing in business, or running an entire agency, they can do it all.

3. The one stereotype about women that should be busted this year is…
That if they have children their priorities change from their career to family. Our culture, be it societal or organizational only enables this because it is expected of women to have none or limited career goals that are forgotten after they have a child while the opposite is said to be true about a man. It’s about time that women are treated equally in every manner because as Katy Perry said; “They can do it all and in a pair of heels.”

“Ishtehari is promoting gender equality and women empowerment by recognizing talent. Ishtehari branded themselves, renegades, when they came to be about 10 years ago and that’s what you can see throughout their hierarchy.

4. My organization is promoting gender equality and women empowerment…
By recognizing talent. Ishtehari branded themselves renegades when they came to be about 10 years ago and that’s what you can see throughout their hierarchy. Despite the four partners being all male, literally all the leadership roles belong to women and the fun fact is; it’s not by design.
Voila! They have beaten the industry protocol.

5. I believe women can fight gender inequality at their workplaces…
Simply by following their goals and ambitions, that’s it. By not giving up.

6. As for men, they can help reduce gender bias at home and work…
By lending a hand. It is as simple as doing dishes or washing clothes at home. Men, by men I mean fathers, brothers, husbands – they need to be more accepting towards women making their own decisions, living alone, wearing what they want, and doing what they like.

7. My message to young aspiring women looking to start a career in 2022 is…
GO FOR IT! Let your experiences and traumas speak. We need more awareness and real-life experiences which lead to diversity. Women are more than just dancing on biscuits commercials or showing skin for soaps.
