National Manager, Quality Assurance, McDonald’s Pakistan
1. This International Women’s Day, I pledge…
To encourage inclusion, diversity, and tolerance.
2. Across the organizational landscape, I want to see more female representation in…
Areas of international trade, law, and actuarial sciences.
3. The one stereotype about women that should be busted this year is…
That women are not capable of doing certain tasks considering their gender. Women should set their minds on smart short and long-term goals and work methodically to achieve them.
“McDonald’s Pakistan is promoting gender equality and women empowerment by creating a more inclusive and respectful workplace for women to pursue their aspirations and move forward on their career path.”
4. My organization is promoting gender equality and women empowerment…
By strategically building confidence and mentoring our female colleagues and creating a more inclusive and respectful workplace for women to pursue their aspirations and move forward on their career path. Diversity and gender equality is our biggest strengths that keep us moving forward and growing stronger.
5. I believe women can fight gender inequality at their workplaces…
By equipping themselves with the right knowledge and projects. Women in leading roles must build cross-functional collaborative and inclusive teams. During the process, it is important to de-sensitize the subject of ‘gender’ and build on the term ‘colleague’; this goes for both men and women. It is a great way to break away from stereotypes.
6. As for men, they can help reduce gender bias at home and work by…
Having a positive mindset and supportive approach in giving women the space they need to grow professionally. Encouraging women, providing them opportunities, and believing in them are a few things that men must do. The pre-set notions should be consciously set aside and fair analysis of skills and capability should be the guiding principle when taking women on board a team or an organization. In due time, this will become a norm and all public and private workplaces will become inclusive.
7. My message to young aspiring women looking to start a career in 2022 is…
Be confident, be yourself and rely on your talent with dignity and grace. One must never stop learning, be it professional courses, a soft skill, or fine arts. With each new interest and skill learned, you evolve as a person and improve your analytical skills that go a long way in the workplace.
