Anyone associated with the scoring of a movie knows the importance of a good soundtrack and when it comes to scoring movie backgrounds, no one does it better than Hans Zimmer. He is the man responsible for the Lion King soundtrack which won the Academy Award for Best Original Score in 1994, for its incredible score.

They say the best part of the movie is the story, some might beg to differ! The soundtrack which can move you to tears is the best part about a movie.

Now imagine a scenario where you get to work with the man responsible for the soundtrack that has become a huge part of our lives. Taurees Habib, a 28-year-old from Karachi just happened to do that!

So far he has helped design the score for some of the biggest box office hits for the past few years. These include Interstellar, Man of Steel, The Amazing Spiderman 2, Kung Fu Panda 3, Batman v Superman, Terminator Genesis and Chappie.

Habib, who majored in music production and audio engineering while at the university, got this job through a friend who told him that Hans Zimmer’s sampling team was looking for engineers and Habib managed to get it.

For him, this has been a great experience, however, it does get intense at times but this is the demand of the job he does.

“It has been a great learning experience that teaches you beyond something you know you don’t know, it has shown him that there is still a lot that he [wasn’t aware] of and didn’t know,” says Habib who wanted to be a record producer from the start and still hopes he can be one.

Recently, the musician has released an album under the name, Bedlam Jackson, that can be found here.
