The notorious swine flu is an infectious disease that is highly contagious and is easily transmitted from one person to the other. After claiming several lives in South Punjab, it has now been reported that dozens of people in Karachi have fallen victims to the H1N1 virus.

According to The News, 38 people in Karachi have been confirmed to have fallen sick due to the Swine flu. 

An official from the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi has mentioned,

“We have received dozens of suspected cases of H1N1 influenza since the middle of December. Following medical tests, 38 people have been confirmed to be infected by the virus as of January 8.”

The signs and symptoms of the swine flu are similar to the normal cold that we are accustomed to such as a fever, cough, sore throat, severe body ache, headaches, and fatigue. However, swine flu patients have also reported vomiting and diarrhea.

The doctors have asked swine flu patients to take extra care as soon as the symptoms become evident. The patient must rest and cover their mouth while sneezing and coughing and then throw tissue paper after using it just once.

Doctors have mentioned swine flu to be fatal for the patients who suffer from low levels of immunity in their body, elders, and children.

Multan has reported 18 people have already lost their lives to Swine flu. The number of patients keeps increasing in other cities of Punjab.
