Good news for people looking forward to performing the religious ritual, Umrah this year. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Hajj and Umrah Ministry has recently announced an extension in the dates of the Umrah season by one month.

The ministry stated that the new extension date will end on the 15th of Shawwal (1oth July) instead of 15th of Ramadan (10th June) which was the previous date for the end of the season according to reports by Gulf News.

People will now be able to spend time in the holy city after eid as well.

Umrah is a minor religious pilgrimage to the holy city of ‘Mecca’ that is performed by Muslims all around the year. However, the number of visitors for Umrah during the pious month of Ramadan is always higher due to it being the month of spirituality and charitable activities.
