Although some of its major features are yet to come forward, its official launch at Lincoln Center in New York City covered most of both set’s minor details. Here’s your first official look at Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus!

Display

Samsung-Galaxy-S8-Display

The Galaxy S8 has a  5.8-inch, which even larger than Samsung’s Galaxy Note series! If that not big enough for you, than the Galaxy S8 Plus boasts a massive 6.2-in display! Both sets feature a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels, about 570 pixels/inch for the Galaxy S8 and 529 pixels/inch for the Galaxy S8+.

Design

Infinity Display

For the curious minded, yes, the rumours of the Infinity Display were in fact true. Both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus boast the Infinity Display. This display allows an expanded screen with more space, going fairly well with the design of the handsets.

Body

Have to admit, it is one of the most attractive sets we have come across in 2017 by far! The edge-to-edge curves look flawless, as far as the front top is concerned you have your usual sensor placements there along with the front camera and the IRIS scanner.

Fingerprint Sensor

Since there is no home button, nor space for one, the fingerprint sensor has moved to the back of the phone, next to the camera. However, the placement might cause a concern to many as it may be a bit awkward for some people and the placement certainly does not seem reasonable. Prepare for a lot of smudges on the camera!

The front camera for both Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have received major improvement, you now have a 8MP camera with an F1.7 lens and auto-focus. Whereas, the rear camera has the same 12MP camera with F1.7 lens.

Overall, the image processing has also seen some good updates, the camera now takes multiple shots and combines them into one high-quality photo resulting in far brighter and sharper images. It is also equipped with Bixby Vision to scan and also return information.

Performance

Galaxy-S8

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus feature the world’s first ever 10nm processor, giving performance a boost of 10%! It also boasts a GPU that is 21% more capable and power consumption that is reduced by 20% as compared to last year’s model!

Users can multi-task, enjoy two variants either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor or the Exynos Series 8895 chip (depends on region), and a 4GB RAM. Users will get upto 64GB internal memory as well.

Bixby

Bixby

Apple’s Siri and Google’s Assistant now have a new competitor, Samsung’s Bixby! Bixby is Samsung’s AI system designed to carry out commands set by the user to make communication and life itself easier.

According to the tech-titan, the user will be able to perform all tasks just by the user being able to talk with the phone instead of touching it. This includes rotating an image or increasing the volume, or sending an image to someone. We will learn more about what Bixby can do in upcoming weeks as the company digs deeper!

Battery

With the S8 you get just a 3,000mAh battery whereas with the S8+ you get 3,500mAh of battery capacity. It is equipped with a TYPE-C USB port.

Connectivity

Both Galaxy S8 Plus and Galaxy S8 have been upgraded with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi Direct etc. However, this time the flagships also support 1024-QAM and a Cat.16 LTE which means that you will be able to have faster downloads and network speeds, 20% more than the Galaxy S7 to be precise.
