Cricket fever has us entranced with the World Cup. Even though Pakistan is out of the game, cricket fans continue to obsess over the outcomes of the tournament.

With South Africa and New Zealand battling it out on the field today for a chance to head to the Semi Finals, the NZ team decided to show off their funny side in an entertaining fashion.

Apparently Brendon McCullum, captain of the New Zealand BLACKCAPS, is asking companies all over the NZ to allow their employees a day off from work to cheer New Zealand on against the opposition.

“Come down and support us yourself. We’ve got a seat with your name on it and a flag that won’t wave itself,” says the cheeky letter.

At the pre-match media conference, McCullum stated, “It will be no different to every other game, I think. We talk a lot about this being the greatest time of our lives and the trip that we’ve been on so far has been one that we’ll all remember.”

“The game is meant to be fun, go out there, express yourself, enjoy the occasion, put our best foot forward, and we’ll see where the cards fall after that.”

They may be nervous, but the cappie says that his team was looking forward to the battle.

“But I think overall the general feeling is one that we just can’t wait to get out there and display our skills, test our skills against a very good South African team and obviously in a crunch game, as well.”

New Zealand remains undefeated in the competition.
