A press conference for the upcoming Pakistani movie “Revenge of the Worthless” was held on Friday at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club in Lahore where the veteran actor, director and film producer, Jamal Shah disclosed some much-awaited details about his soon-to-be-released film.
The tale will be showcasing the impact of insurgency and terrorism in Swat and its dire effects on the city’s’ locals. Watch the trailer of the movie here.
The movie has been scripted, produced and directed by Jamal Shah himself. He was all set to create a documentary with the same subject but in the end decided to go ahead with directing a movie instead.
“It’s my first film and I have shot it on original locations”, said Shah to the press.
He also shared his concern that such movies are not funded by the corporate sector.
“For me, the film was a big challenge not only due to its content but the locations as they were difficult to access”, he revealed.
Shah claims that Revenge of the Worthless shows both sides of the picture, having accounts of both the Taliban as well as the opposite side.
Some famous Taliban characters have been played by Firdous Jamal and Ayub Khoso which include Sufi Muhammad and Mullah Fazlullah respectively. Jamal Shah also divulged that the logistical assistance was provided by the ISPR.
