Mary Frances Reynolds, famously known as Debbie Reynolds was an American actress, singer, businesswoman, film historian, and humanitarian. She was the spotlight star at the age of 19 with her musical lead in ‘Singin’ in the Rain‘, and then fame and popularity followed Reynolds.

Mother to Carrie Fisher, the iconic Star Wars Princess, Reynolds passed away on 28th December. She was admitted to the hospital as she fell ill after news broke out her daughter was admitted for an attack, which proved to be fatal. Fisher expired on 27th December, and Reynolds fell the next day, possible stroke.

1. Singin’ in the Rain

Debbie’s lead in the musical gave her everything, the Golden Era American Sweetheart stood out marvellously, making an unforgettable impression in the hearts of all Americans. The story is about Don, Kathy (Debbie Reynolds) and Cosmo who have an idea to turn The Duelling Cavalier into a musical called The Dancing Cavalier.



2.  Tammy and the Bachelor

The 1957 romantic comedy, Tammy and the Bachelor, is based on a seventeen-year-old girl living in a houseboat in Mississippi who has a dream to live outside the swamp. One day in the swamp, Tammy and her grandfather locate the wreckage of a plane the grandfather had heard the crash and discover the unconscious body of Peter Brent (Leslie Nielsen). Tammy and her grandfather help Peter recover at their home, during which time Tammy falls in love with Peter.



3. The Unsinkable Molly Brown

Rescued from the Colorado River as an infant and raised by Shamus Tobin, tomboy Molly Brown is determined to find a wealthy man to marry. She journeys to Leadville, Colorado and is hired as a saloon singer by Christmas Morgan. After miner Johnny Brown renovates his cabin, the two wed, and he sells his claim in a silver mine for $300,000. Soon after the money Molly hid in the stove accidentally is burned, Johnny discovers the richest gold vein in state history.

4. The Singing Nun

Sister Ann (Debbie Reynolds) leaves the Dominican convent near Antwerp for her assignment at Samaritan House in a depressed area of Brussels. Sister Ann loves to play the guitar and sing, and when she joins in the traditional evensong at Samaritan House, she impresses the other nuns and Father Clementi (Ricardo Montalbán).

She becomes fond of Dominic Arlien (Ricky Cordell), a motherless child whose father is an unemployed drunkard and who is loved only by his 17-year-old sister, Nicole (Katharine Ross). Sister Ann composes the song Dominique for the boy. Father Clementi persuades Robert Gerarde (Chad Everett), a partner in a recording firm



5. Mother

John Henderson (Albert Brooks) is a successful science fiction writer who is finalising his second divorce. Perplexed by the issues he has with women, John decides to initiate a project that will help him understand what went wrong in his relationships—he moves back in with his mother (Debbie Reynolds), occupying the same bedroom he had as a child.
