Pakistani adolescent Raffay Ansari is just 16 years old and he has already become a full-stack software developer. The kid is well aware of all the layers of programming and soon will be launching his own business.

The whizz kid from Pakistan is a self-taught programmer. With three years of experience in developing iOS apps, Raffay Ansari has already made several thousand dollars through freelancing. He has walked the extra mile with his programming skills. Some of his coded games collectively went through millions of downloads.

While Raffay hitches his wagon to a star, the kid suffers through Ataxia, a neurological disorder which causes impaired functioning of certain parts of the body.

Raffay told Tech in Asia that he was diagnosed with the disease 2 years ago and since then his muscles have been weakening. The boy has seen many difficult times due to his condition. He has been struggling since his school and today he might not be able to walk, speak, write, read or perform other movements properly, but he can surely develop programs.

According to him, a game “Borderlands” excited his passion, directing him towards programming.

“I was just another kid, living his life, using Facebook and YouTube. After I started playing Borderlands, I became fascinated with how this was developed. What were the mechanics? How was it engineered? I needed to know more,” said Raffay.

Raffay puts the internet to good use and learned coding online. He picked up online courses to go through coding from different academies including Code Academy. He was 13 when he successfully bid for his first freelance assignment and coded iOS game “Mr. Flap”.

Despite all his hardships and insipidity of programming, the tech-savvy kid not only found inspiration to be a young technopreneur but has also become a role model for many.

The child genius is now amongst many of Pakistani Prodigies who make our hearts burst with pride!
