Sindh High Court has granted permission for Qingqi Rickshaws to operate in the province, however, they will have to follow a guideline of 17 points. These guidelines have been drafted by Sindh Transport Department.

Some of the guidelines include that the motorcycle which will be used to operate the rickshaw needs to be of 100cc, the capacity for passengers will be 4 or less, safety guards must be equipped at both front and at the back of the vehicle, and side and front mirrors are also necessary.

According to another report,  Qingqis will not be allowed to run on main arteries of Karachi. Instead, they will only be granted permission to operate on the city’s link roads (internal routes). In August 2015, Quingqi rickshaws were banned due to operating without permits and proper routes along with needed documents.
