With the diplomatic crisis in full swing between Qatar and UAE, Saudia Arabia, Yemen, Bahrain and Egypt, chances are the critics will kickstart a movement to strip Doha of the rights to host World Cup 2022, reports Khaleej Times.
However, FIFA said in an email statement:
In regular contact with the Qatar 2022 Local Organising Committee and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy handling matters relating to the 2022 FIFA World Cup”

Saudia Arabia and the remaining nations have cut ties with Qatar and block all land, sea and air routes on the accusation of supporting regional terrorist groups.
Their move has sparked the biggest diplomatic crisis in the Gulf region since the 1991 war against Iraq.
Why Qatar 2022 is in Danger?
Already, Qatar was controversially chosen by FIFA in 2010 as the host of the WorldCup 2022. And now in light of the recent events, an alarming security concern has been raised as a lot of tourists will be flying to the nation to attend the event.
For those who don’t know, Qatar government has approached Pakistan Army for assistance in terms of safety and security in order to prepare themselves for this prestigious event.
Seems like with the embarrassing situation Qatar is facing, the tournament will most likely be canceled and it is being said that the United States could take over hosting duties if necessary.
