December 16th, 2019: In the recent Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan visit to Malaysia, Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad gifted a Proton Car. The X-70 Proton SUV will be handed over to PM Imran Khan in a ceremony.
The car will be officially received by the Financial Advisor on trade, Razzak Dawood on December 19th, 2019. The Malaysian Prime Minister announced the luxury car gift for Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to Pakistan earlier in August 2019.
Mahathir Mohamad also announced to set up an assembly plant of the vehicle manufacturer in Pakistan during that visit.
March 25th, 2019: The Proton X70 SUV launched in Malaysia in December 2018 after a long wait. This SUV is very special to the country as it is the brand’s first-ever national built variant.
The vehicle is also very special for the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Bin Mohamad and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan as the Malaysian PM gifted it to Khan as a gift at an event of the ground-breaking symbolic ceremony of the plant took place on March 22, 2019.
PM Mohamad was invited as a chief guest by PM Khan at the occasion.
Not to forget that Proton is eyeing to enter the Pakistan markets with business associate Al-Haj automotive.
