ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has provided Pakistan’s media regulatory body a total of 10 days to take action against the petition that requests cancellation of ARY News channel’s licence, reports Tribune.

The petition is filed by Hafiz Ehtisham spokesperson of Shuhada Foundation; the petition called for action against the news channels for linking Tashfeen Malik with the San Bernardino shooting — with Lal Masjid.

Justice Amir Farooq questioned Advocate Tariq Asad who is counsel for the petitioner if the PEMRA had previously taken action against the complaint. The counsel stated that the regulatory body had requested the respondent to submit a response; however the petitioner does not trust PEMRA.
