The genesis for the idea came about when singers Fakhr-e-Alam and Haroon shared a flight from Karachi to Islamabad a few weeks ago. Both singers have started digital portals, EzDaam and Taazi respectively and they decided to collaborate and create the Green Day Festival to encourage more Pakistani youth to come online.

Atif Aslam to Perform at Independence Day 2016 “Azaadi Rocks” Concert

They chose the name ‘Green Day’ because it relates to the Independence Day celebrations. The idea is to bring the 14th August Independence Day celebrations to the digital world and to create an interactive platform for Pakistani digital users and expand the current digital footprint in Pakistan.

It will also help to draw traffic to Pakistani tech innovators & make a new cyber-space where various aspects of digital business come together. The concert will be broadcasted online from a secret location where there will be NO audience only online audiences will have access to it.

If the live concert and star appearances are not enough to encourage users to come online, there are also mind-blowing deals being offered by a number of online vendors including EzDaam, Easy Tickets, Taazi, Rozee and others.

Fakhr-e-Alam who is the CEO of EzDaam, Pakistan’s latest and fastest growing online retail store says “The Pakistani youth is responding really well to the online world. The future of internet & e-commerce is going to be huge in Pakistan. Like I and Haroon taking this GreenDay festival initiative we need more people to come forward and create opportunities that bring more online traffic”.
