‘Sasta Petrol Sasta Scheme’: Here’s Who Can Benefit From It

There is a new petrol scheme being introduced to help the people of Pakistan amidst the ongoing inflation. This new scheme gives a safety net in the form of allowance to a certain bracket of people. Read more about it here:

What Are The Details?

It has been announced that people with a household income of less than Rs40,000 will get a monthly stipend of Rs2,000. The new government subsidy scheme was announced on Saturday. It comes as part of the new efforts of the government to alleviate the struggles of many during skyrocketing inflation.

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said in a press conference, “I urge people with household income below Rs40,000 to send us their computerized national identity card (CNIC) number.” You can text the number to ‘786’ to get the subsidy. The Benazir Income Support program is being followed here too. The details will be verified and the Rs2,000 monthly stipend will be granted.

The ‘Sasta’ Scheme

The new government has also launched the ‘sasta petrol sasta diesel scheme’ for 14 million households. This roughly translates to at least one-third of the population. Under this scheme, each household will be provided a monthly stipend of Rs2,000 which will cost the government Rs.28 billion.

“People whose poverty score is less than 37% will be given the stipend,” said Miftah Ismail. Moreover, women are also being especially looked after. Ismail urged women heading households to message on 786 to avail of the subsidy. The subsidies will start getting distributed from 1st July.

In addition to this, a “five percent discount on petrol to households with a monthly income of Rs40,000” will also be given. Other households with monthly income below Rs40,000 will get an eight percent discount.

The Impact of Fuel

Miftah Ismail also spoke at length about the address of the new government and how different it was from its predecessor. It was very well-received according to Ismail. He also acknowledged that the rising fuel prices are causing inflation.

However, he says that inflation would have further increased and the rupee could have further devalued if the government continued to provide the fuel subsidy. He said the rupee’s ability to climb against the dollar is a result of this.

To the ones who watched Squid Game as their first korean drama, this guy was only a cute mysterious recruiter. But to us, who thrive on Goblin, he was the reason we screamed when we saw him at the station. No one can match Gong Yoo whose expressions are enough to convey the entire storyline. But if we must think of who can play the character, then let’s go with Sheheryar Munawar.

Deok Su, the gangster looked purely evil. Not everyone has the talent to pull of an evil role. Saleem Miraj can be considered but his physique does not go with Deok Su and we know how important that is for the time when Mi Nyeo takes him and jump. Hence, we need to look for talent and physique that resembles the character. Nayyar Ejaz it is then.

8. Hania Aamir As Han Mi Nyeo

The annoying woman, Han Mi Nyeo was loud and could laugh and scream in the faces of betrayal and victory. As for Hania Aamir, she usually has had the roles of protagonists but she can fit the role because she is capable of dispensing these emotions. We have the evidence in the form of her projects Phir Wohi Mohabbat and Ana.

9. Imran Ashraf As Ali Abdul

The controversies that surround Ali Abdul are many. One of them would probably be the name and how it doesn’t make sense. Squid Game creators, Abdul is not a surname. Anyway, someone who looks innocent and is strong enough to not let Gi Hun die in the first game? It will be hands down, Imran Ashraf.

Hwang Jun Ho’s brother, who he came in the arena to find, turns out it was the Front Man all along. It has to be Feroze Khan.

11. And of course, Humayun Saeed as Gi Hun

Do we need to justify this? If Squid Game is made in Pakistan ever, it will be created by Humayun Saeed or Wajahat Rauf. And both of them will cast Humayun Saeed as player 456. Why? Because Humayun Saeed would still be playing the hero even 15 years down the line.

The classical play will be presented from June 17th – 26th 2022 at Zia Mohiyeuddin Theatre, NAPA.

Romeo and Juliet is arguably the best work of Shakespeare, and one of the best plays of all time. People have seen it many times over the years, yet it always seems fresh and interesting. Karachi is ready to host its Urdu rendition at NAPA (National Academy of Performing Arts).

NAPA stages an Urdu rendition of a classical play every year, mostly some classic work of William Shakespeare or Sophocles’. NAPA has staged four plays by Shakespeare in the past. This year, they are presenting William Shakespeare’s classical play “Romeo and Juliet” from 17^th June 2022 to 26^th June 2022, at Zia Mohiyeuddin Theatre, NAPA.

This play is directed by Zia Mohiyeuddin and the cast of the play includes NAPA students and alumni. Zia Mohiyeuddin carefully handpicked all the artists for this play, there were some characters that he already had in mind. So, he just asked them to act in the play on his request, while, for other characters, he auditioned NAPA graduates.

NAPA has staged four plays by Shakespeare in the past. All the renditions were performed simply as Urdu translations of classic plays without taking their true essence out, and this year’s play would be the same staying true to its originality. Romeo and Juliet is an all-time classic and one of the most notable works of William Shakespeare, and it is translated into Urdu by Khalid Ahmed.

NAPA aims to provide quality entertainment to spectators of all age groups. Karachi, 13th June 2022 – Alibaba Global Initiatives (AGI), a training arm of Alibaba Group, is set to launch its Alibaba Netpreneur Training Program today in Pakistan with support from Daraz, a leading e-commerce platform across South Asia and a business of Alibaba Group, as well as the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan. The four-week program will include a series of online courses and workshops to support local entrepreneurs in harnessing digital technology to grow their businesses.

The Netpreneur Training Program is designed to equip entrepreneurs and business leaders across different sectors with tangible and actionable steps they can take to advance in the digital economy. To date, AGI has trained close to 1,600 entrepreneurs around the world through this program.

PEMRA just banned a drama serial for ‘indecent content’ and dramas like ‘Jhooti’ in which the issue of domestic violence is trivialized are common. However, in the middle of all these rotten eggs were some classic serials that taught us invaluable lessons.

The list we have comprised for you will make sure you spend your time where it’s worth. Plus, you can learn great lessons on a range of issues too!

1. Baaghi

This deserves the first spot on the list. The drama was inspired by Qandeel Baloch, an internet sensation who was murdered by her brother in the name of honor. This drama was a great hit and remained one of the most popular ones to date.

It highlights grave societal issues, problematic mindsets, and the chains of patriarchy. Fouzia Azeem, aka Qandeel Baloch, is played by Saba Qamar, so you can be sure the acting is par excellence. It also depicts the dynamic of “had harami” where families enjoy a woman’s income and mistreat her for it.

2. Udaari

Another superb composition by the Pakistani industry. Udaari is based around the issues of child abuse. In this drama, the rapist comes to light after doing the crime, and he’s taken to court. This idea moved some gears in the minds of the audience and for a good reason.

It strived to show the rapist as the only one at fault and the victim as someone who was wronged. The central theme of the drama is that ‘a rapist is a culprit that needs to be punished and a girl is not guilty if she becomes a victim of the rape.’

3. Alif

Alif was also one of the best Pakistani dramas to date. That’s because the theme it is teaching is hugely different from the mess the usual ones like to dwell upon. Starring Hamza Ali Abbasi and Sajal, this drama focused on spirituality. It was about the fact that love between a man and God knows no bounds.

Alif highlighted that the path to spirituality might be difficult, but the destination is worth all you sacrifice. We loved this one, especially!

4. Daldal

This Pakistani drama is about human trafficking and illegal immigration. The attempt to shed light on these with an audience like ours must be commended. Daldal portrays the paradoxical belief that many Pakistanis have about their country— that they can not prosper here or sustain themselves on their soil. The main character, Shuja, illegally leaves for England, and there we see how he struggles to make ends meet.

In a way, it attempts to shatter the romanticized notions we have built about life abroad.

5. Sammi

With a star-studded cast having the likes of Adnan Siddiqui, Mawra Hocane, and Sania Saeed, this drama also enjoyed its fair share of popularity. Sammi is a commentary on socially constructed gender relations.

It depicts how women are looked upon as the lesser sex while families are obsessed with their sons. It portrayed only how typically men control the lives of women in a family.

This ACCA Ad Is Making Netizens Ask The Same Question – How Is It Relevant?

ACCA is a competitive field where a strong majority of students choose to make their career paths. The field of accountancy is no easy feat however, it has been termed a boring one. However, ACCA’s latest ad is a paradigm-changing one that completely changes the way we think about ACCA.

What Is It About?

The ad is called “Aagay Ki Soch” in which a whole song has been made on thinking ahead. Provided there is a song, the whole ad looks like a music video. It features three women singing and playing games and then actually having a dance routine too. The singers are from Gintara and their selection is a representation of diversity and inclusion.

Who would have thought dance, music, and song would be used by ACCA to promote itself and it would work so well? The choreography is eyecatching and the song goes incredibly well with the spirit of the ad— to put a new twist to the old.

What Worked And What Could Be Improved?

It nailed some aspects which were trying to show that ACCA can be a lot more than boring white offices. It chose to show only women to encourage women to be a part of the field, to be the face of ACCA. They also had young women to target young people who will be deciding their careers. The ad seems to be clearly built on the premise of innovation, integrity and inclusion.

It brings forth the idea that Gen Z is the population that breaks past all barriers and revolutionizes each field they touch. The lyrics are suggestive of the fact that qualified finance professionals from ACCA can be remarkable globally. Think Ahead – think of the future and what can be achieved! We loved the neon colours and the uplifting vibe of the ad altogether.

However, sing-songey ads and dance routines ads feed into the culture of everything having to do with pop. Many might be confused about the message since it requires reading into it.

The Song

“Aagay Ki Soch” could be a banger, let’s be real. The song has well-thought-out lyrics that could appeal to even the toughest crowd. For instance, when they sing “ginti ki game hai saari, yehi hai dunya daari” it really hits. It brings home the idea that the skills ACCA teaches are not limited to just screens, they’re life skills that take Gen Z to the next levels.

“Jidhar bhi tu jayega, rasta tu payega” is also another verse that remained stuck in our heads. It captures the mindset that Gen Z are unstoppable when they put their minds to something.

What Did People Say?

People are discussing this ad on KAMN on Facebook, a group where all sorts of advertisements are discussed. Many are confused about the relevance of this ad to the field of accountancy because they are not reading into it. From the surface level, they just see a song. Others are raising constructive critique where they think the ad has some good elements but it missed out heavily which is why this ad does not stand to make an impact.

PAKISTAN, June 10, 2022: TikTok is preparing to launch two new practical tools as a part of its digital wellbeing mission to make it easier for its growing community of users to manage the time they spend on the entertainment platform. The new tools will enable users to have regular screen time breaks, allowing them to remain in full control of their TikTok experience.

A new screen time dashboard will give TikTok’s creative community data on how much time they are spending on the platform, including summaries on daily usage and the number of times they opened the app. Users can also opt for weekly notifications to review their dashboard and monitor the time spent in a single sitting. These prompts will remind TikTok users to take a break after a certain amount of uninterrupted screen time, which they can set as per their choice and convenience.

TikTok will also introduce weekly digital well-being prompts for younger users. When users aged between 13 and 17 spend more than 100 minutes on the app in a single day, he or she will get a reminder from TikTok about using the screen time limit tool the next time they open the app. TikTok is focused on delivering digital experiences that bring joy, entertainment and enrichment to its community. Part of this includes ensuring that the community has a positive relationship with their devices and allowing them to be more in control of their experiences. These new features are in line with TikTok’s goal to promote a safe and positive experience for all its users and ensure that the platform is equipped to offer the best possible viewing choices for the TikTok community.

By rolling out the new screen time management tools, the platform hopes to encourage its community to think about their digital habits. Accordingly, TikTok will publish a new guide, titled “How can I reflect on my digital well-being with my family and friends?” on the platform’s Safety Centre. The new features will be launched in the coming weeks and will be available in & Privacy and Settings & under the section Digital Wellbeing.

The Big Mac Smoke Detector

The people over at McDonald’s created a Big Mac Smoke Detector. What it does is that it is fixed in your kitchen. When it smells that food has been burnt or something, it immediately orders your pre-selected meal from your nearest McDonald’s. New food gets delivered to you within minutes because McDonald’s understands that not everyone is a Masterchef.

The Machine

The machine was made in the iconic Big Mac shape because nothing says McDonald’s more than a meaty and fulfilling Big Mac. Moreover, the machine is entirely 3D printed and they fixate the smoke detector within it.

There is definitely one downside though. That is that the machine could actually be made more aesthetically pleasing and nice looking. It would look really odd to have a big bulging Big Mac hanging from your roof in your kitchen. However, when it offers McDonald’s as a savior within minutes when you burn your food, we guess anything works.

This is a peak example of how the technology of today is being used to revolutionize the way we live our lives. Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan have shared the first trailer of their upcoming hit, Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. The movie is an action-comedy that will finally be hitting the screens a year too late due to the pandemic. The trailer, a total of 2 minutes and 25 seconds is packed with a lot. Here’s what it offers:

The Storyline

The storyline follows the life of a notorious cop who is played by Fahad Mustafa. It appears that Mahira Khan is his aide and also his love interest. There is another don and then the major police officer is Mehmood Aslam. The film is directed by Nabeel Qureshi.

The idea is that Quaid-e-Azam is printed on the notes so he can keep an eye on us. The entire movie revolves around the presence of Jinnah and how he can see when the people of his nation do something wrong. In all of this, there comes a point when Quaid-e-Azam’s image gets lost from the rupee notes altogether. The fight then becomes about corruption.

Mahira Khan’s Scenes

The trailer also gives glimpses of another dance song (not sure if it can be called an item song) that is done by Mahira Khan. She seems to be adorned in a parrot green shalwar kameez suit while she’s performing in the song.

Mahira Khan also has other fun scenes such as the ones in which she’s learning to shoot a gun or when she’s riding on a bike with Fahad Mustafa out of urgency.

Action Unlike Ever Before

The film is also giving Dabangg vibes from head to toe. Fahad Mustafa in the tightly fitted police uniform and the whole host of stunts his character performs is nothing short of Dabangg. We see him breaking a wooden panel on the shoulder of one of his enemies and he turns around to finish an impactful dialogue.

One thing is for sure, the movie is incredibly well-shot. From the action scenes to the landscape scenes where the wide-zoom angle is utilized to show more than just the actors. We’re beyond excited to have the much-awaited film Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad hit the screens. Are you?
