Careem Partners With Taj Gasoline To Provide Sustainable Fuel Management Solutions To Captains

Karachi, December, 2022: With the mission of simplifying and improving the lives of people, Careem, the pioneer of ride-hailing in Pakistan, has partnered with Taj Gasoline, a leading oil marketing company in Pakistan, to provide sustainable fuel management solutions to its Captains by offering fuel at subsidized rates. The partnership aims to benefit Captains and help improve their earnings following the rising inflation in the country.

Taj Gasoline has so far dedicated 6 of its fueling stations in Karachi and Multan for Careem Captains to avail this benefit and plans to increase the number of stations across the country. Taj Gasoline believes in crowning the journey for all, and the same value is shared with Careem of simplifying and improving the lives of people, therefore has extended this offering to all Careem colleagues, where they can get the same subsidized rates from the dedicated stations.

The announcement was made during a signing ceremony at Careem’s head office in Karachi where senior leadership from both companies were present including Feroz Jaleel, Country General Manager, Muhammad Imran Saleem, Strategy and Commercial Director from Careem, Omar Shafqaat, Chief of Operations, and Ahmed Maaz, Head of Marketing from Taj Gasoline.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Feroz Jaleel, Country Head, Careem Pakistan said, “Our Captains are the backbone of Careem and this year, in particular, has been extremely challenging for them. With fuel prices skyrocketing, our Captains’ earnings have taken a severe hit and we are taking every possible measure to help them in this difficult time. This collaboration is a testament to our team’s commitment to staying one step ahead in making lives simpler for our Captains’’.

Samsung To Launch Something Exciting Soon In 2023

Samsung is all set to add another major product to its portfolio. The recent highly anticipated addition will be a foldable laptop with the biggest screen released to date. According to the Korean media, the laptop will measure 17.3 inches which is the largest screen size released by any laptop brand as of now. The product which was initially set to launch in 2022 is now pushed back with a tentative release date in 2023.

Samsung’s Foldable Laptop 

The world’s largest OLED panel producer is known for providing OLED screens to some of the top companies in the world. While sharing the details about the laptop specs, the Korean media announced that Samsung’s latest offering would come in a 17.3-inch panel produced by Samsung Display. Meanwhile, the upper part of the screen will measure 13.3 inches. The release will also coincide with the Hp who is set to release a foldable laptop featuring a 17-inch screen with a foldable LG display. In its initial phase, Samsung was supposed to roll out 6000 units. However, the latest news suggests that the volume will more likely increase to 8500 units.

Samsung vs Hp vs Asus

While Hp is set to roll out its version of a foldable laptop, Samsung’s other rival Asus already has a foldable product in the market. The newly released Asus ZenBook 17 Fold offers a display of the 17-inch screen supplied by BOE and is considered a niche device. The laptop offers the second largest diagonal, as it has a 12.6-inch display when closed. According to the latest reports, Asus has ordered 10,000 such panels to BOE, and ditto for HP’s order to LG. From the price point, Asus is pretty much relevant in the market. While the Asus laptop costs US$3500, the Samsung is expected to be priced at the same value.

With the rising demand for Asus OLED laptop display orders by Asus, it is highly likely that Samsung’s projections of 8.5 million such panels for 2023, surpass this year’s target of about 6 million for this year. Meanwhile, the Samsung screen is also reported to be used for the first portable PC with a flexible screen from Samsung Electronics, which could also be launched in 2023.

Another foldable laptop on the market is offered by ThinkPad – X1 Fold Gen 2, which is the best-selling model in the category until now. The laptop offers a 16.3-inch OLED display inches Folds down 12 inches when closed.

Whether Samsung will be able to keep up with the demand and roll out a product that will attract the consumer base is still debatable. However, given that the majority of the products offered by Samsung are already doing great on the market, it is highly likely that the foldable laptop will get the recognition it has always received.

KIA is at the forefront of inspiring global fans as it continues to put its dedication forward related to FIFA world cup activities. World Cup might be over but KIA is still putting forward its recent campaign ‘Inspiration; It’s in all of us,’  to recognize and acknowledge sports activities worldwide.

KIA – FIFA World Cup Partner 

Following the triumph of FIFA, the official automobile partner of the world cup is continuing to commit to exciting fans dedicated to sports activities.

As part of its world cup activity, KIA managed to mobilize 297 cars and 70 KIA-branded buses during the FIFA World Cup 2022 period. These transport facilities helped fans, players, referees, management, and staff with convenient and safe mobility to and from the ground and fan camps. The fleet included 80 eco-friendly Kia vehicles (30 EV6 GT-Line, 30 Sorento Plug-in Hybrid, and 20 Niro Plug-in Hybrid) which contributed to the aim of creating a sustainable World Cup.

Amongst the KIA lineup, the EV6 GT-Line was the first ever fully EV that was used at the FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, it also represented KIA’s global sustainable activities in the Middle East, where eco-friendly vehicles are currently less popular.

KIA’s Official Documentary 

KIA also launched a documentary to commemorate the occasion under the name of ‘Road to Inspiration’. The documentary featured some of the legendary players Mikaël Silvestre from France and Nigel de Jong from the Netherlands.  The documentary helped the international sports presenter Adam Hunt while navigating Qatar with the EV6 GT-Line.

Amongst all the activities KIA’s ‘Ground of Inspiration’ also attracted fans from all over the world with its creative display of the Kia EV9 Concept which represented adventure and the creation of an exemplary lifestyle in an art form.

The EV6 GT presentation was also followed by the Kia EV9 which is the most powerful Kia production vehicle ever with 576-HP and the performance of acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. The latter was stationed for fan viewing at Al Bayt Stadium and Sportage at Khalifa International Stadium.

A relative feud between Shaniera Akram and Feroze Khan started over the weekend, while the debate started between the two. Imran Ashraf soon came into the mix and here’s how it escalated so quickly.

Shaniera Akram is known for being vocal about societal issues on social media. Over the weekend, a scenario surfaced on social media after Feroze Khan shared a picture with his kid in the driving seat. Needless to say that the post was enough to ignite a feud between the two. Shaniera Akram took to her social media account to raise awareness regarding the issue at hand and how dangerous it can get for both the kids and the family.

Soon after Shaniera shared her stance on driving, Feroze followed with another post on his Instagram referring to Akram’s wife.

Feroze, who is already being criticized heavily in the public eye, called out Shaniera in a derogatory manner and shared some of his views regarding what Shaniera had suggested. The post which never made sense to Shaniera or the public in general showed a person and a kid fighting a bear.

Imran Ashraf Mix In

Another post added fuel to fire which was shared by Imran Ashraf on social media. In the post, he was seen sitting in the driver’s seat with his kid in his lap. Shaniera, on the other hand, took notice of the post and called out Feroze again since his insensitive comments were now all over social media and how other people (celebrities) are now following his footsteps.

She, then, also emphasized the fact that driving recklessly is not something to be taken lightly.

Imran Ashraf’s Response To The Controversy 

In recent news, Imran Ashraf posted a video online. He took to social media to clear the air about the situation at hand and how he is being dragged into the controversy. Imran Ashraf posted a detailed video talking about how a casual day in his routine. He then mentioned how it has no relevance to what happened. Imran called out Shaniera in a respectful manner and asked her to refrain from dragging him into the ongoing controversy.

HBL PSL 8 — Final Squads After Draft

The players’ draft for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) took place on Dec 15, where over 500 foreign players and more than 450 Pakistani players were up for grabs. Teams had to pick from the Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Emerging, and Supplementary categories. On top of that, teams also had the chance to use ‘right-to-match’ RTM card, which was intelligently used by Quetta Gladiators to pull Naseem Shah back from the claws of Multan Sultans.

Last night’s draft saw many interesting and surprising picks, where many senior pros were left out, while some uncapped promising players were picked on the back of their talent. Every franchise put in their efforts to prepare the best roster for PSL 8. Let’s see what the teams look like after the draft.

Unpicked Players from PSL Draft

Former captain Mohammad Hafeez was one of the most notable omissions, as no franchise showed any interest in the man of the match from last year’s PSL final. Along with him, the second most run-scorer in PSL Kamran Akmal, and Ahmed Shahzad were also ignored by teams during the draft.

Sohail Tanvir and Ben Cutting’s rivalry was one of the highlights of PSL, where both seasoned players were involved in a heated exchange on the field, recreating their rivalry from CPL, however, this season, both players failed to find a place in any franchise.

Former Australian captain Aaron Finch, South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi, Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, and, Litton Das were also among the names who were ignored at the draft.

Lahore Qalandars did not retain Fakhar Zaman initially but picked him in the Platinum category. With 2023 approaching, Samsung is all set to launch yet another set from its flagship series. The new Samsung S23 will seek the light of the day in early 2023. While the release date is still not confirmed, the rumors about the potential features of S23 are catching fire. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming release so far.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Upgrades: Here’s What Is Expected 

The upcoming S23 series will be rolling out three models – Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. S23 will feature a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The price is expected to be fixed at around $799. Meanwhile, critics suggest that the prices are not supposed to skyrocket when it comes to the S23 series because if done so it will leave a huge gap between the A series and the S series.

According to the details, the S23 might get a redesign However, the dimensions of the model will remain the same. The renowned tipster Ice Dragon has shared his tweet regarding the recently launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset spilling that the S23 series models will have Samsung’s in-house developed Exynos 2300 chipset.

The S23 camera is supposed to get 200MP for its main camera with a sensor size of 1.3″. The ultra-wide camera will feature 12MP with a sensor size of 1.2/55″. Rumors have suggested that S23 might feature a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor which was custom-made by the company itself.

To capture high-quality videos, the new custom-made main camera sensor is said to be capable of 8K 30FPS — a jump from the 8K 24FPS on the S22 — and dual HDR while shooting in 4K and FHD. It allows the phone to be able to capture great, more exposed, and bright images. This should be true for both when the phone is shooting in 200MP and 50MP modes.

The models are reported to be released in the colors black, green, and light pink. Meanwhile, Samsung is planning on a beige model replacing the classic white hue which seems to be a more classic case of redefining a classic color in a classic lineup.

While there is much news available, there is still plenty of time till the release of the new model so watch out for more information regarding the new Galaxy S23 which could turn out to be much bigger than what is anticipated.

Coca-Cola To Launch ‘Recycled Records’ & The Idea Is Pretty Impressive

Coca-Cola is all set to launch another project as part of its initiative to make the environment more sustainable. The beverage giant is collaborating with musicians DJ Mark Ronson and rapper and beatmaker Madlib to release Recycled Records. The initiative will be responsible for the release of the debut record of Ronson and Madlib and will feature sounds of plastic bottles being recycled.

The Coca-Cola Musical Experience 

The musicians, in collaboration with Coca-Cola, will experiment with music in an innovative attempt to connect sustainability with recycling. The musical record will feature the chomping and crackling of the plastic bottles which takes place during the recycling process.

“The thud of a plastic bottle going through a recycling facility is, in its way, a piece of art. It can transform. Being able to take sounds from the recycling process that are so different from what I’ve used in the past while flipping them into a whole new format is a great example of the versatility of sound. Now, any cat has the opportunity to make some dope sounds of their own,” explains award-winning producer Madlib.

The one-of-a-kind immersive experience will let people get access to creating their music while reusing the recorded beat. Users can get the help of a digital beat machine which is powered by Coca-Cola and create audios of their own.

Now we know for a fact that all is just plain dhoka on the screen but there are some seriously ah-mazing celebrities playing those characters on-screen, making us go awww with adoration!

Ever imagined watching a movie putting your favorite on-screen couples out of the equation? It’s our favorite actors and actresses that sometimes spice up simplest of the stories with their chemistry. The rest of the time their face value just helps us survive the most ridiculous of the tales.

So we have a list of all those A-list on-screen celebrity couples of Bollywood who gave us major relationship goals.

1. SHAHRUKH KHAN & KAJOL

The power couple of Indian film industry, SRK and Kajol have been the most adored on-screen couple who have made singing and dancing even in ‘the mustard field under the heat’ look desirable.

Clue To Mystery Behind Brilliant ‘Super-Agers’

US researchers think they’re getting closer to understanding why certain old people preserve exceptional cognitive abilities on par with those of others 30 years younger.

According to recent research published in The Journal of Neuroscience, these exceptional “super-agers” have bigger nerve cells in the parts of the brain that control memory.

It’s possible that the octogenarians were born that way, or that as they aged, their neurons changed in a different way from those of others.

More research is required, which might uncover novel dementia-fighting strategies.

Researchers are particularly interested in learning how long-term brain health may be impacted by alterations in nerve cells. Do they provide any protection against ageing or are they only a sign of superior mental health?

Finding out what prevents dementia and maintains cognitive function is the main goal of the SuperAging Research Program at Northwestern University in Illinois, which has been underway for more than ten years.

Participants must be above 80, have an excellent memory, be open to undergoing a variety of exams and tests, and consent to donating their brains to research after death.

Researchers have previously deduced, based on prior studies utilising MRI scans, that the brains of so-called super-agers resemble and function more like that of a 50-year-old than an 80-year-old.

The entorhinal cortex, a part of the brain associated with memory, is the subject of the most recent studies, which are based on postmortem exams.

Six superagers, seven “cognitively average” octogenarians, five individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s, and six younger donors who passed away from illnesses unrelated to the brain were also evaluated. They discovered that the super-agers in this area of the brain had larger, healthier neurons than the rest. They also seem to be less likely to develop the aberrant protein buildups known as tangles that are normally found in the brains of Alzheimer’s sufferers.

Though the precise origin of Alzheimer’s disease is not yet known, there are a number of factors that may raise the risk. While some, like age and heredity, cannot be changed, lifestyle choices like quitting smoking, adopting a healthy diet, and engaging in regular exercise might reduce the risk.
