Finch smashed 156 runs from 63 balls, with the help of a whopping 14 sixes and 11 fours. He also helped his side scored the then second-highest total in a T20I – 248/6.

Zeeshan Kukikhel – 15 (2022)

Hungary’s opening batter Zeeshan Kukikhel holds the record for the highest T20I score in a run-chase against Austria in 2022. Austria managed to put 196/6 in 20 overs , thanks to their skipper Razmal Shigiwal’s unbeaten 95. Hungary chased the total in 19 overs, with Kukikhel leading the chase. He scored 137 off just 49 balls, featuring seven boundaries and 15 sixes.

Hazratullah Zazai – 16 (2019)

Hazratullah Zazai played a marathon of an innings against Ireland in 2019, scoring the second-highest individual score in T20I cricket. Afghanistan raised the then highest team total in T20Is – 278/3, thanks to Zazai’s unbeaten 162 off 62 balls. His fiery knock featured 11 fours and 16 sixes, a world record.

Finn Allen – 16 (2024)

Finn Allen is in the form of his during the ongoing series against Pakistan, getting better with every game. He scored scoring 34 and 74 in first two matches, followed by a blistering 137 runs from a mere 62 balls, marking the highest score by a New Zealand player in T20Is. He surpassed the previous record held by Brendon McCullum, who had scored 123 runs against Bangladesh back in 2012. His innings featured a staggering 16 sixes, and four boundaries.

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday heard an unusual petition of a 10-tola gold dispute between a woman and her former daughter-in-law.
Sabeeha Khanam filed a petition against the decision of the high court, which ruled in favour of providing 10-tola gold to her ex daughter-in-law. The case was heard by a three-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.
During the proceedings, Justice Isa directed questions to the petitioner’s lawyer, Zulfiqar Naqvi, seeking clarification on the intricacies of the family dispute between the two women. The lawyer informed the court that the conflict revolved around a disagreement between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law regarding the custody of the gold.
Justice Isa further inquired about the marital status of the daughter-in-law and her Haq-e-Mehr, to which the counsel revealed that the woman had been divorced and had three children, with an alimony of Rs2,000.
The Chief Justice questioned the reluctance in providing 10-tola gold to a mother of three children and dismissed Sabeeha Khanam’s appeal to overturn the high court’s decision.

Cricket Fans Criticize Shaheen Afridi’s Captaincy After Series Loss

Shaheen Afridi has lost his first series as captain after New Zealand thumped Pakistan by 45 runs in the third T20I match. Shaheen-led Pakistan conceded 224 runs after opting to bowl and managed a meagre 179 runs in response.

Shaheen Afridi was appointed T20I captain, along with Shan Masood as Test captain after Babar Azam resigned as captain after World Cup 2023. Unfortunately, both captains faced same fates, losing their first series as captain.

Shan Masood suffered a 3-0 clean sweep against Australia. Meanwhile Afridi’s side is on the verge of a clean sweep after losing first three games of the five match series.

Shaheen Afridi won all three toss but shockingly opted to bowl first each time. The decision seems baffling considering Pakistan’s old problem while chasing targets. Pakistan conceded 200 runs twice in those three games.

Afridi faced criticism over his on field decisions and fans as well as former cricketers have started questioning his leadership abilities as well.

However, he defended his decision to bowl in the third T20I by saying, “This ground’s history, both in international and domestic cricket, showed us that chasing is easier here.”

He called it a team decision, while acknowledging his and other bowlers’ short coming to restrict New Zealand to a modest total.

“After consultation as a team, we thought it would be better to bowl first. Unfortunately, we didn’t deliver in the power-play as a bowling unit, and our bowling has collapsed in these three games.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s batting line failed to get close to the target in each match, with Babar Azam being the only notable contributor. Azam scored half-century in each of the game, however, could not get enough support from the other end.

There are some visible issues in Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy, however, it would be too early to judge his leadership skills. He has two more matches in the series, followed by PSL, where his team Lahore Qalandars are defending champions.

According to most recent news, the Pakistani Cricket Team has clashed with team director Muhammad Hafeez over several issues. It can be considered quite normal to disagree with the people in authority but to have key players of the entire team clash is a whole other thing. Tension within the Pakistani cricket team during the New Zealand tour is reportedly centered around NOCs for T20 leagues.

An NOC is a No Objection Certificate that lets the players take permission from PCB and play in various leagues that they wish to. Team director Mohammad Hafeez’s strict stance on granting NOCs, especially for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), has caused discontent among players. Its keeping players on edge to have this stance, and tensions are at an all-time high.

Players like Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan received NOCs for ILT20, but Hafeez hesitated for BPL, risking players’ contracts. However, Muhammad Hafeez maintains the stance that the players are getting quite exhausted or injured, thus risking team plays in the leagues, including BPL.

To help the media outlets and general public get easy access to this data, Google has set up a Google Trends Pakistan General Election page, a tool that exhibits the top search queries, topics, and interests in parties contesting the elections. The page also includes data on the top election-related topics searched in each part of the country, such as the economy, taxes, and wages, among others.

All the charts from the Google trends page are embeddable on any site and will continue to update even after they’re placed on an outlet’s site.

It’s important to note that the Google Trends Pakistan General Election page is not a poll or survey and does not reflect voting intentions. It merely reflects people’s search interest about particular topics at a local level over a period of time. A spike in a particular search query does not reflect that a political party is somehow “more popular” or “winning”.

Pakistani actor, Ahsan Khan, recently explained the motivation behind getting a tattoo on the side of his neck.

Appearing on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast, Khan initially tried to dodge the question with a vague answer. As the host got into the details if someone insisted the actor to get the tattoo, Khan explained it was for a drama serial (Fraud).

“The crew had to draw a tattoo on me every day so I decided to get a real one instead but I opted for a design that was personal to me. It’s actually semi-permanent so it can come off.”

A wedding photoshoot where the couple put each other at gunpoint? Not our cup of tea and safe to say that the public is also not very amused with the idea.

A couple’s video from their wedding photo shoot is now going viral on social media where both the bride and groom are seen in action holding each other at gunpoint. The whole scene looks like a failed attempt to recreate an action movie scene. However, neither does it look extremely distasteful, but also poorly executed.

The shooting sequence immediately shifts after the groom fake collapses after getting hit by an imaginary bullet. Later the sequence shifted to a few clips from their pre-wedding shoot and the actual wedding photoshoot. The very unconventional video sure didn’t amuse the public and the comments section is filled with criticism and questionable remarks for the couple.

Zaid Ali & Yumnah Ali To Welcome Their Second Baby

Famed Pakistani-Canadian YouTuber Zaid Ali and wife Yumnah Ali are expecting their second child, the couple announced on Monday in an Instagram post.

“We are having another baby! Allhamdulilah ❤️,” Zaid wrote as he posted his video with his wife and his two-year old son, Izyan Ali Zaid.

He went on to say “I think it’s time to come back to YouTube.”

Congratulations poured in with fellow YouTubers and influencers wishing them a happy journey ahead. Fans also encouraged him to proceed with his thought of returning to the video streaming platform.

The couple had tied the knot on August 1st, 2017.

Is The PTA Tax On Flagship Smartphones A Justified Cost?

One of the first things people ask when purchasing a smartphone these days is, ‘Is this PTA or Non-PTA’? The taxation on flagship smartphones has really put people into second thoughts on whether the investment is worthwhile or not. If we look at early 2021 and slightly before, the PTA tax on smartphones was not as high as it is now. The tax amount to unlock an iPhone 7+ (256GB) variant was around Rs.7,000/-. However, entering the last quarter of 2021 or first half of 2022, that tax amount increased to Rs.36,000/-.

If there was more than five times of an increase on iPhone 7+, people could only imagine what it was on the upcoming flagship phones. Now, in 2024, you will have to pay more than 3 lac in tax alone if you intend to purchase a PTA-approved iPhone 16. The phone itself is not any less, either, but stacking on the tax just puts it above the budget range.

Is the Tax Amount Justified?

Now, a person is left wondering if the purchase of a flagship smartphone really is worth the investment. However, it is not just on flagship phones that the tax is high, it can be seen specifically on phones that are imported. These include Apple, Samsung and Google Pixel phones. The products that are made and sold here, you might not see any tax on them. But, when it comes to these brands, the tax shoots sky high.

One can argue that the import tax is high because of the purchases that many people have been making, and less local purchases. However, there needs to be some incentive on local products too, if they want people to purchase locally assembled phones. Either that, or the authorities in charge can come up with some reduction on smartphone taxes, alongside some incentives for purchasing local.

Adjusting The PTA Tax

Of course, the tax on local seems alright, but we do believe that there has to be some relaxation on the import PTA tax that is used to unlock the phone. Due to the high taxes, a lot of people carry around two phones, one PTA and one non-PTA. This also increases the risk of mugging.

If not a tax reduction, then there ought to be schemes in place that let these international brands establish themselves in Pakistan, diversifying the Pakistani tech market. There are quite a few ways to go about this and they ought to be explored.

Remember when the ability to send ‘view once’ messages became a thing on WhatsApp? Everyone was making use of this feature because of how interesting it was, especially because you could have quite a lot of fun with it. However, that is not the only interesting feature that WhatsApp came out with. Now, they have even released the ‘view once’ audio messages feature as well, people can send audios which can only be played once.

That said, WhatsApp has now come up with yet another feature for its users. This one lets them control what aspect of their application they wish to update and whether they wish to move forward or not. At one time, WhatsApp did not even have a dark mode, and a lot of people did not like the switch to it. Thus, if you are not ready to embrace a new update, you can now control that aspect!

WhatsApp With New Update

In the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, users now have more control over how updates are handled. Yes, they can control whether the app automatically updates over Wi-Fi as soon as a new version is available, or let the user receive notifications to update. If a person does not immediately wish to update their WhatsApp due to losing a feature or if they are still getting used to the current version, they can hold the update.

If they choose to not update over Wi-Fi, then the application will not update unless it is prompted to. The Google PlayStore offers this feature but now it has been introduced as a standalone one in the application itself. A lot of people have not updated their WhatsApp in a while to not see the change in user interface, and this update can help them with future versions.

Updating Depends On User

In the future, you might come across a WhatsApp update that you do not wish to pursue. In that case, you can just turn off automatic updates just for this application. Then, if there is an update worth pursuing after the next one, then you can allow updates and bypass the unsavory one, going direct to the newest one.
