Recently, Heena Kausar, the chef and mastermind behind this innovation has come up with something new. Hulk Biryani! that’s right, it’s green. With a flavourful twist called Italian Tikka, this dish is surely going to blow your mind and food buds away.

Creamy Creations has become a highly viewed baking channel, generating almost 200k views. On Heena’s YouTube channel, you can find a thorough description of the courses offered.

Nimra Khan, will take on the role of the main character who wears a hijab in the upcoming television series “Umm-e-Ayesha” on Geo Entertainment. The show is directed by Saleem Ghanchi and produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi.

In a recent interview, Khan revealed that the series, scheduled for release during Ramadan, revolves around the challenges faced by a hijab-wearing woman. These challenges include difficulties in securing employment due to her attire and encountering discrimination in the matchmaking process known as “rishta.”

Khan elaborated that her character makes a commitment to never appear before non-blood-related men, known as “na mehram,” without her hijab.

While talking about her experience about portraying a Hijabi girl, Khan expressed that her overall experience exceeded her expectations. While highlighting the supportive cast and positive atmosphere on set. She further explained her role being challenging, having to balance wearing a hijab while also driving a scooty, but emphasized that it conveyed a positive message overall.

What Is Paypal?

PayPal serves as a platform for safe and efficient international transactions, making it stand out like a beacon of financial connectivity in the global economy. Due to its reputation for making cross-border payments simple, both the people, as well as the corporations highly value this service.

PayPal‘s large network, easy-to-use interface, and strong security procedures make it a unique service that no one else can offer. Because of these characteristics, it has become the preferred option for freelancers and customers from around the world, building confidence and streamlining the payment process.

You may find yourself asking, but why would we even need it in the first place? For Pakistanis, the benefits of using a PayPal account are far too many. This time, however, a huge surge in the number of freelancers caught the country’s officials’ attention, prompting the introduction of new policies and the initiation of plans to finally realize the dream, but alas, it all proved to be just a mirage.

Disappointment followed months of anticipation when PayPal’s formal debut in Pakistan failed to materialize yet again. The story that officials crafted, implying their impending arrival, proved to be a hoax, leading many to doubt the veracity of such assertions. A silver lining arose in spite of the setback: third-party apps like Payoneer have made it easier for people to use PayPal’s services indirectly. Even though it’s not ideal, this setup has made it possible to temporarily receive foreign payments via Paypal.

The contract between PayPal and Payoneer was not influenced by the Pakistan IT Minister, despite what is being believed. This refutes the idea that the officials had any say in the relationship. Many were quick to criticize the IT officials who tried to claim fame for something Payoneer had been working on for quite some time now.

While others have started pointing out the deteriorating situation of the IT sector in Pakistan and that no amount of policies made by the past/ current governments have resolved them. They also shared light on how, instead of having banks facilitate freelancers, they are being charged exorbitant fees or provided with unfair exchange rates.

Hard Pill To Swallow

The Sixth Edition Of The Effie Pakistan Jury Sessions

Effie Awards Pakistan, one of the biggest marketing and advertising awards has been consistently executing award shows and jury sessions for the past five years successfully, with this year being the sixth edition. The eligibility period was 1st July 2022 – 30th September 2023 with 482 submissions. The Jury sessions were divided in two rounds.

Round one was held virtually, where over 150 local and international jurors were invited to critically analyze the Effie cases. Round two was held on 23rd February at Movenpick hotel karachi, where the shortlisted cases were evaluated by the esteemed jury to pick the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners. The jury sessions were chaired by Mr. Saad Amanullah, who has been affiliated as a board member for companies like P&G, Unity Foods, NBP, Fauji Fertilizers and K-Electric and is an active social worker.

‘She copied me’ – Aima Baig Accuses Nehaal Naseem

Pakistani singer Aima Baig has recently fired imitation accusations at Nehaal Naseem, also a Pakistan-based singer. In a recent podcast by Ahmed Ali butt, also known as “Excuse me with Ahmed Ali Butt” she claims “she literally like…totally copied me.” When she was requested to name overrated and underrated artists, Aima spoke plenty about how most women are underrated.

Nehaal Naseem’s career took off when an old cover went viral back in 2016. She was only 11 at the time she recorded the video and since then has debuted another cover named ‘Ijazat.’ But known best for her Coke Studio appearances, vocalist Aima Baig has stated that she sounds exactly like her.

When concluding the podcast, she began with “I like this girl very much, I count her success as mine because she copied me.” Fans have found this quite a surprising accusation coming from someone who herself has been accused of copying another singer’s style.

When netizens pointed fingers at her for copying superstar Ariana Grande, she claimed there’s nothing wrong with taking a little inspiration from other artists. Then how come you’re credible enough to call someone else’s success, your achievement? Aima tried her best to take the matter with a light heart and said, if it brings you joy and makes you laugh, then so be it. Sometimes I like Ariana’s style, sometimes Selena’s.

Cricket is the most popular sport in Pakistan and youngsters from all regions want to excel either as a batter or a bowler, however, Waqar Ahmad Betni, also known as “Waqar Commentator, found his passion in cricket commentary.

Waqar, a student of BS Zoology, balances his studies with the responsibilities of a security guard to fund his education. However, amidst his academic pursuits and work commitments, Waqar’s true passion lies in the world of cricket commentary.

Waqar did not undergo formal training in English or commentary. Instead, he honed his linguistic skills during his schooling years, with the guidance of teachers and his own dedication.

His love for the English language was nurtured during his O and A-level studies, where he practised diligently without regular English courses. The art of commentary, he learned, came from hours of listening to cricket commentators, absorbing their styles and techniques.

While some liken his commentary to that of New Zealand commentator Danny Morrison, Waqar insists on his unique style and tone, reflecting his individuality and passion for the game.

“I don’t follow anyone but commentate in my own style and tone, which people like a lot but some people say my commentating style is like Danny Morrison.”

Despite being more inclined towards bowling in cricket, Waqar’s commentary talents have caught the attention of social media users. He was never fond of social media, but his friends recorded his commentary and uploaded it on social media, which went viral and propelled him into the spotlight.

Karachi Kings’ platinum player Kieron Pollard made headlines last week as he took a leave from ongoing PSL 9 to attend the lavish wedding festivities of Indian business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s son.

Anant Ambani, the youngest scion of the Ambani dynasty, is set to tie the knot with Radhika Merchant in a grand celebration in Gujarat.

Pollard attended the pre-wedding gala hosted by the Ambani family, which also featured luminaries such as Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Rihanna, Bill Gates, Ivanka Trump, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Shah Rukh Khan, and almost all Bollywood stars.

Notably, Pollard is the batting coach of the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians, owned by Mukesh Ambani and run by his wife Nita and son Aakash Ambani.

However, Pollard choosing to attend the wedding over PSL 9 raised concerns among the cricket fans in Pakistan, questioning the professional commitment of the player.

After suffering two consecutive defeats against Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United, Karachi Kings were eager to turn the tide in yesterday’s match against Multan Sultans.

The former West Indies captain is the leading run-scorer for the Kings this season, scoring 196 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 161.98.

He was granted a four-day leave by his team, which means he will be back for the next game, however, his team will now face an uphill task of winning all four games to earn a playoff spot.

Karachi Kings will face in-form Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi on March 6.

Lahore Qalandars owner Sameen Rana criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for publicly humiliating pace bowler Haris Rauf, which affected his performance in PSL 9.

Rauf found himself at the center of controversy after the PCB terminated his central contract following his refusal to join Pakistan’s Test squad for the Australia tour.

However, the decision was announced just two days before the start of the PSL 9, which sparked criticism and raised questions about the timing and manner of the announcement.

Sameen Rana expressed dissatisfaction with the untimely announcement, describing it as unnecessary and psychologically damaging for Rauf.

“The timing of that announcement was wholly unnecessary. There was no Pakistan series coming up, or any emergency situation that necessitated the announcement two days before the PSL,” said Rana.

“Whatever the logic was, the timing was really bad. It was a huge blow psychologically for him because his whole life’s main aim is playing for Pakistan.

Rauf, known as Lahore Qalandars’ premier bowler and their highest wicket-taker after Shaheen Afridi, faced public humiliation with the abrupt termination of his contract. PCB did not communicate with the bowler and announced the decision through a press release.

Rana criticized the lack of communication and professionalism in the process, highlighting the importance of treating employees with respect and dignity.

“I would never treat my employees like that. The employee at least has the right for you to call, email or message them. None of that happened with Rauf, and it was pathetic. It was really poor management.

The decision also came with an additional restriction, preventing Rauf from participating in any overseas T20 league until June 30, 2024, further limiting his opportunities in the cricketing arena.

APNS General Council Elects New Office Bearers In Its AGM

The Annual Meeting of the APNS General Council held on March 02, 2024 at APNS House, Karachi unanimously elected Nazafreen Saigol Lakhani as  President, Sarmad Ali as Secretary General, Imtinan Shahid as Senior Vice President, Muhammad Aslam Kazi as Vice President, Syed Muhammad Munir Jilani as Joint Secretary and Shahab Zuberi as Finance Secretary of the Society.

The AGM was held under the chairmanship of Mrs. Nazafreen Saigol Lakhani, President of the Society. The Council unanimously approved the report of the Executive Committee for the year 2023-2024 as well as the Annual Accounts of the Society for the year 2023.

The General Council attended by 116 members from across the country, formed an Election Commission headed by Dr. Waqar Yousuf Azeemi with  Syed Irfan Shah and Zahid Hafeez as members. The Election Commission conducted the election of the Executive Committee for the year 2024-25.

Following dailies and magazines were elected un-opposed to the Executive Committee of the APNS for the next tenure:

Daily Times, Daily Duniya, Daily Jang, Daily Khabrain, Daily Pakistan, Daily Tijarat, Daily Ausaf, Daily Nawa-i-Waqt, Daily Awam (Quetta), Daily Mashriq (Quetta), Daily Wahdat, Daily Mashriq (Peshawar), Daily Kaleem, Daily Kawish, Daily Aftab Multan, Daily Business Report, Daily Paigham, Daily City42, Daily Pakistan Observer, Daily Halchal, Daily Sayadat on daily seats and Weekly Azm, Monthly Dastak, Monthly Naey Ufaq, Monthly Naya Rukh, Monthly Centre Line, Fortnightly Ibrat and Weekly Nikhar elected on periodical seats.

There being 07 candidates on 06 Karachi daily Seats, the Election Commission conducted the election. Following were elected by secret ballot:

Daily Aghaz, Daily Business Recorder, Daily Dawn, Daily Deyanat, Daily Jasarat and Daily Jiddat.

The new Executive Committee elected Mrs. Zahida Abbasi of Daily Nau Sijj, Karachi on woman – publishers seat.

The newly elected Executive Committee appreciated the performance of the Election Commission for conducting fair and transparent elections.

The AGM in a resolution, expressed its profound concern on the state of print media due to the present economic situation which has caused severe financial crisis for newspapers, many of them are at the verge of collapse. In this situation, the media expected support from the government to brave the financial crunch. The AGM urged upon the new Federal Government to implement the decision of Mian Shahbaz Sharif approved in his last tenure to increase the government advertisement rates. The members in the AGM, requested the Federal and provincial governments to pay the long outstanding dues of newspaper industry, increase the quantum of advertisements and allocate a separate share of print media in the advertising budget so that the newspaper industry would be able to survive in the present situation.

The AGM in a resolution, expressed its profound concern on the arbitrary decision of the PID to remove 17 publications from the Combined Media List out of which, 11 publications are members of the APNS. The APNS condemned the above decision and requested the Ministry of Information to restore the publications on the media list.
