The playful ad highlights the refreshment and the zing the colorless drink provides with its lemon-lime essence.

With chants of “Khulay, Charhay, Lagay Sprite! Lagay Sprite, Nimbu Soda ki Tha”, the TVC shows Armeena riding an elephant and enjoying the thirst-quenching, the ice-chilled beverage.

Labeling itself as a ‘Nimbu Soda’, this time the brand has deviated from its usual theme revolving around the combination of ‘Sprite and Mirch Masala’ and brought forward its quintessential citrus favor.

Sonakshi Sinha on The Cover of Vogue India

Sonakshi Sinha of Dabangg fame is absolutely sizzling on the cover of Vogue India. But that’s not all, her mischievous personality is clearly resonating from the image.

Rather than the usual raunchy poses, it’s welcoming to see a cover photo bring out the personality of the star on it.

With her hair tied up in a hasty bun and locks falling on her face, Sonakshi is looking candidly beautiful!

The Bottega Venetta blue crop top adds sensuousness and a bit of naughtiness as well. If that wasn’t enough, the finger on the lips completes this playful photo.

Although the high-waist shorts aren’t too visible, but this Hemant and Nandita creation definitely adds more color to her look.

Coke’s True Friendship Ads Feature the ‘Fist Bump’

Coca-Cola is celebrating #truefriendship with it’s latest campaign in Latin America, by re-designing it s iconic wavy ribbon into the universal friendship ‘fist bump’ symbol.

Conceived by the creative agency Pereira & O’Dell, the campaign is in order to shed light on the value of real friends and genuine companions in adverse time.

While teenage life is not easy, the digital age makes it all the tougher. They can fall into traps of cyber bullying and end up facing issues of low self-image, poor self-esteem and being isolated.

Thus, the brand has launched an innovative strategy to remind the youth that shared moments of comfort and belonging are the essence of real-time, selfless friends.

Along with revising its packaging with the first bump symbol on bottles and cans, Coke has also released three short films for the campaign in which high-schoolers are shown standing up for their pals when the world turned against them.

Titled as ‘The Rumor’ and ‘Something Unexpected’, the videos highlight the crossroad moments in the life of a teenager.

Moreover, the musical theme ‘Clouds’ for the entire ‘True Friendship’ campaign has been hailed from One Direction’s fourth album Four.

With previous campaigns like ‘Open Happiness’ and ‘Share a Coke’, Coca-Cola’s new ‘True Friendship’ initiative speaks volume of the brand’s ideology to share a little love with the world.

Avengers Get a South Indian Makeover – Hilarious Video

It seems that the Indians have doubts on the day-saving skills and heroic abilities of Marvel’s Avengers, for the nation has now assembled an army of their own desi, very “Faarigh” South Indian Avengers.

But unlike the imaginary Sokovia, India seems to be in no apparent threat of an alien invasion and thus, the poor band of superheroes are on the prowl in the city, searching for jobs.

A hilarious, sardonic spoof of the real legendary Avengers “What if the Avengers were From South India” is a YouTube clip of the witty, comedy group “Put Chutney”.

The not-so-action packed video of India’s local Avengers gives an entertaining sneak peak in the slow, boring lives of a bunch of jobless superheroes.

Watch the Put Chutney’s “What if the Avengers were From South India” video below:

What if The Avengers were from South India… by PutChutney

Under the supervision of the Fury Jaganath aka Nick Fury, the team is saved from the terror of remaining forever unemployed by the power of the S.H.I.E.L.D initiative – Super Hero Immediate Employment Liaison Department.

The Avenger boys all suited up and the Black Widow complete with bindi, are available for hiring via the S.H.I.E.L.D application on the cell phones.

And work they eventually find – from Hyderabadi Hulk breaking coconuts to Captain America protecting people the scorching sunlight, the Avengers vow to be at the assistance of the civilians and that too not at a pricy rate.

Charging INR 300 for 3 hours, they will even add life to the South Indian parties and shaadis in the city with their not-so-heroic services. And if people want to hire them on Sundays, they apparently have to pay them double.

Eager to add a Desi twist and a South Indian takda to their every initiative,  Put Chutney kick -started their satirical superhero series with their debut video “What if Batman was from Chennai”.

Seeing its popularity, Put Chutney released its squeal of the South Indian Avengers which has reaped mighty views of 164664 in just one day.

Samsung Beats Apple For Top Smartphone Sales

Samsung has been fighting to regain its position as the top global smartphone vendor for well over a year now, only to have beaten arch-rival Apple this quarter.

According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung has fulfilled global orders for around 83.2 million smartphones in the first financial quarter of the year 2015. With this statistic, the South Korean giant has essentially captured 24% of the global smartphone market.

While the new market share isn’t as good as its previous best 31%, from the previous year, it still beats Apple’s 17.7% latest market share figure for the quarter.

The iPhone manufacturer has sold around 61.2 million units this quarter, a downsized figure from the year 2014’s last quarter. Last year, during the first quarter, Apple held 15.3% of the smartphone market share, only to have bettered it to 19.6% by year end.

The spike in Apple’s market share, last year was mainly attributed to the introduction of the super successful iPhone 6.

However, Samsung has come out all guns blazing this year and in spite of not having revealed its official figure for smartphone sales, Wall Street Journal analysts have made the accurate prediction of the South Korean giant taking over the smartphone throne.

What’s more interesting is that this estimated figure of Samsung smartphone sales does not include the newly released Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The new smartphones have been flying off shelves and Samsung has claimed that the demand is steeper than their expectations; so much so that the company is unable to match the demand-supply rate.

While Samsung’s global position is quite stabilized, as reported by Strategy Analytics executive director, Neil Mawston, the company has yet to defeat competition in some areas especially Asia. Moreover, tainting Samsung’s elevating popularity were rumors that the company paid people to attend Galaxy S6 Launch Event

Following the neck-to-neck competitors, in the smartphone race, is Lenovo-Motorola with a 5.4% market share and Huawei with a 5% share.

Facebook’s 11th Birthday Brings Back Memories

Facebook has turned 11 this year and we have seen it evolve quite remarkably. It has become an integral part of our lives where we spent and also wasted our precious time scrolling through profiles, pictures and stalking people!

Don’t act innocent, we’ve all done it. It has been something of a love-hate relationship with this site. We post about our precious moments and now unfortunately any moment including ridiculous selfies.

Back when Facebook was launched in Feb 2004, it catered to a very limited audience and offered a limited number of options and capabilities. It started off with helping out students at Harvard to connect and socialize with their peers. It moved onto adding more colleges and universities to its roster and now the site boasts 58 member colleges including the whole Ivy League.

Now as of September 2014, the network’s users have grown to a whopping number of 846 Million a day.

Facebook became the top social network in 2008 surpassing Orkut, the now demised site by its top competitor Google.

Facebook evolved its features including how it portrays profiles and newsfeed.

When at the start of its run, the site started garnering more attention and gaining users; it was featured in numerous newspapers and TV talk shows. The founder Mark Zuckerberg had very little to say when he was questioned about the social network 11 years ago.

CNBC featured Mark Zuckerberg in their news and analysis program ‘Bullseye’. Here is the video to the program:

11 years ago today, someone named Mark Zuckerberg appeared on CNBC to discuss a social network that had 100,000 users.

Zimbabwe Cricket Union Still Considering Pakistan Tour

pak vs zim

Our prayers had ALMOST been answered, as international cricket appears to grace the shores of Pakistan once again!

For the first time since 2009 when the Sri Lankan Cricket team was targeted by armed terrorists in the city of Lahore, international cricket finally appears to be coming back to our land, with the Zimbabwe Cricket team considering the offer from the Pakistan Cricket Board to play a limited-overs series.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Shaharyar Khan, stated that the national cricketing board will bear all the expenses of the Zimbabwean team for its tour of Pakistan, which is being scheduled to take place in the third week of May.

Read More: Zimbabwe To Tour Pakistan in May 2015

The PCB has agreed to pay the match fees for all the cricket players, and also the daily allowances of the team and management, a sum which amounts to about USD 500,000.

Officials from the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) would soon visit Lahore to check up on the security arrangements and general playing conditions in Lahore before making their final decision, while the ZCU has expressed concerns over playing in Karachi.

According to Shaharyar Khan, this tour is vital for the future of Pakistani cricket, as the board and the people of Pakistan wish to portray a positive image of the country and its security conditions, by inviting fellow test teams to come and play in Pakistan.

The invitation to the Zimbabwean Cricket Union is another step towards the revival of international cricket in Pakistan. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that we hear some good news in the next few days.

SIM Re-Verification Deadline Extended till May 15th, 2015

Sim Verification

SIM re-verification deadline has yet again been extended till 15th May 2015.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, along with the Interior Ministry of Pakistan, is repeatedly not only extending re-verification deadlines but also, making contradicting claims about the unverified SIMS being blocked and the number of actual SIMs verified to date.

Turning the whole idea of combating terrorism by upgrading the telecommunication verification system into a joke, as with all things in Pakistan, PTA has quoted a number of 11 million unverified SIMs in the white list of those for which the deadline has been extended.

Funnily enough, this is the exact number of SIMs that the authorities announced as being unverified and eventually, blocked at the previous deadline, 14th April 2015.

Moreover, two weeks ago, PTA has lifted the ban on the issuance of new SIMs by telecom companies and invited the Interior Ministry to audit the SIM re-verification process. With the deadline extended once again, it is quite confusing to comprehend how the audit will be conducted and how telecom companies will be issuing new SIMs if it is still unclear whether the previously unverified SIMs have been blocked or not.

The idea to re-verify SIMs through biometric verification was conducted as a response to the horrifying Peshawar school attack back in December 2014. However, with the contradictory claims and the random rules to verify and block SIMs, it is obvious that the execution of the idea has been more than flawed to be effective enough.

Facebook Messenger Introduces Video Chat Feature

fb video chat

With the rising popularity of video chats, not only to keep in touch with family, but also to hold business conferences online with remote workers, Facebook has decided to enter the market too.

Video chats have quite literally made the world a global village. From the ever popular Skype to the more recent FaceTime, each mega telecom company has a video chat app to cater to its users. This is why the social media giant, Facebook, has felt the need to also introduce the video chat option in its Messenger app.

The option is quite easy to use. All you need to do is click on the video icon at the top of the messenger window to start a video conversation with the person you were texting with. This ease of use makes Facebook believe it has a certain level of competitive edge over the other more popular video chat apps.

Watch Video:

As Facebook hit its peak of popularity, it lost its stance in the tide of breakfast pictures and funny cat videos, becoming more of a stalking app rather than a communication media. Having realized that, Facebook decided to introduce features that would help it recreate its image.

For becoming the ultimate texting platform, Zuckerberg took over Whatsapp last year. To become the leader in online marketing, Facebook introduced options for video advertising. To defeat the arch rival Snapchat, it revamped Messenger to allow regular users and businesses to communicate more aptly.

Having succeeded with the Messenger audio chat option since its introduction two years ago, Facebook felt this was the right time to bring in the video option, as demanded by its users. With around 10% of all internet audio chats happening at Facebook Messenger, it seems like the video chat option will bump up the popularity of the social media giant even more.
