Nike confuses with launch of geographycentric shirts in Carolina

JULY 15, 2013 – Planners at Nike led the brand into hot boiling water when its campaign for supporting the Carolina Panthers went wrong.  Carolina Panthers is North Carolina’s rugby team.

The global sport apparel brand manufactured a T-shirt with the initials ‘NC’ denoting North Carolina but the plan took an ugly turn when it was mistakenly embossed on a large map of South Carolina instead of North.

Nike responded to this by removing the link to online purchase where the shirt was positioned to be at $32.

Comments and social media networking quickly responded to Nike’s geographic error, responding with rage and disgust.

Nike had no response for this move it made to show mere appreciation, but resulted in dismay and misery for its followers and customers, at least for the people of North Carolina.
