Kubra Khan, who made her judging debut on Bol Entertainment’s recently launched reality show, ‘Pakistan Star’ has been mocked for her singing and judging abilities by a contestant who was unable to handle criticism.

She shares the panel along with Hamza Ali Abbasi and Javed Sheikh on the talent show that is heavily inspired by international shows such as ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘India’s Got Talent.’

Contestants face judging and criticism every week on talent-based reality shows, however, it doesn’t happen often that things backfire and the judges get judged and insulted instead.

In a recent episode, a young boy who aspires to be a singer performed on Shah Rukh Khan’s superhit song Chaiyya Chaiyya. However, after failing to impress the judges, instead of accepting the feedback he attacked Kubra Khan’s credibility as a judge. How can she judge his singing talent when she’s not a singer herself was his concern…

He questioned if Kubra could sing better than him, to which she replied that yes she could. Hamza was quick to intervene and said that he should take the feedback positively.

The video went viral and divided social media into two categories;

Others thought it was extremely disrespectful

This is not the first time the show has been caught in a controversy, earlier, actor Hamza Ali Abbasi made headlines for showing his discomfort when a 16-year-old girl auditioned for Pakistan Star with a dance performance on Mehwish Hayat’s item number Billi.

He said that he doesn’t want young girls to dance on songs which objectify women and apologized to the contestant on behalf of the film industry for not setting better standards.
