National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Thursday announced a cut in the fees that is charged on smart cards.
Spokesperson from the Ministry of Interior has stated that the order of the reduction in fees for SNIC came from the directions given by the interior minister.
The new fee structure states that the regular Smart Card issuance fee is Rs. 400 all the way from Rs. 1500, while the urgent Smart Card would cost Rs. 800.
The authority would charge Rs 1600 for issuance of each Executive Smart Card, he added.
