Car registration will no longer be conducted the old way, now, getting your vehicle registered legally will also involve technology. Punjab Excise Department is to introduce a new vehicle’s registration package for the convenience of the province’s citizens.
Additional Director General Excise, Chaudhry Masood ul Haq has mentioned that the package will include number plate and issuance of vehicle’s smart card registration book. It which will replace old registration book and universal number with its introduction.
He said that no additional charges will be taken from citizens in this regard, and the introduction of this new system will help in time transfer of any vehicle, making the process short and quick.
For those who are considering to purchase a used vehicle, the car will be needed to be transferred to new owner’s name, a new smart registration card will be issued to the purchaser instead of registration book.
The old number plate of the vehicle will remain with previous owner and buyer will be issued new number plate on his own name.
Because of this, vehicle transfer process will be conducted even more quickly and trend of open transfer letter will end, without any extra charges for those who have taken this package.
