mobile-phone-service-suspended

On the directive given by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, mobile network services have been suspended for short spans of time in a few regions of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

This measure was enforced after PTA received orders from the Interior Ministry concerning the security of Islamabad. The network operators shut down the services around 5 am today and was later blocked again after being restored in the sensitive regions.

NO-SIGNAL

Both PTA and the service operators are strictly advised against sharing the timetable and the area names where the service is due to be blocked given security threats.

These measures were taken after protesters gathered in D Chowk in the capital; until the government decides to deal with this situation, the mobile network service suspension remains indefinite.

With mobile network suspended, the citizens of Islamabad have been facing quite a lot of technical difficulties and communication problems.
