Microsoft might be winding up its business in Pakistan! This perception comes after the changes the company has faced, unexpectedly, according to Netmag.

According to their report, without any prior warning or severance package, the company has laid off half of their senior staff.

They also claim that the tech-giant has abolished the position of Country Manager and had Shahzad Khan shifted to an internal designation.

Moreover, they have also stated that sources have informed them that it was found that the main staff has become a victim of this sudden layoff.They are Vaqar Madni, Taimoor Mughal, Nauman Majeed, Imran Ahmad, Zarak Khan, working in senior positions as Senior Channel Resource Manager, SME Sales Leader, Public Sector Account Manager, Consumer Business Head and Service Manager respectively.

According to the website, the company shut down their Innovation Center in Karachi and are in plans to shut down operations in Lahore. Microsoft has its largest innovation center at the Arfa Software Technology Park, named after the young computer prodigy who, in 2004 at the age of nine, became the youngest Microsoft Certified, Professional till 2008.

The website also claims that the company did not make as such major investments within the country, but has provided resources and has been a part of a few projects. However, this sudden decision comes as a disappointment, something which no one would have expected from them.
