Mandira Bedi launches her own Sari Brand1

The first ever women to do a daily soap on Indian television, Mandira Bedi has recently launched her own Sari line in Mumbai under her own name “Mandira Bedi”

“Sorry for flooding your timeline. My signature Sari store launched yesterday (Saturday). Am overwhelmed! The doors of the store open today! Come,” Mandira announced on Twitter.

Admired for her hosting duties for ICC Cricket World Cups in the years 2003 and 2007 and the Champions Trophies in the years 2004 and 2006, as well as the Indian Premier League season 2 for Sony Max’ Bedi was bound to turn her clothing passion into a profession.

“My Sari line is an extension of myself. Every single sari in this line is one i would wear myself. My saris are a unique spin on the traditional garment – they are traditional yet quirky, classic yet inventive, elaborate yet minimal and au courant”, she said in an interview.

Styled with embroidery, tye and die and gold work borders, her designs are an exquisite blend of traditional and contemporary fashion.

“This fusion of fabrics, color and detail allows anyone from a teenager to a glam gran mum to carry off my designs. So even though I make sarees that please my eye and my sensibility, I like that anyone who wears a saree well, can carry off my designs, whatever age, shape or size they may be”
